| Ghosts are the spirits of humans who were either greatly evil in life, or spirits who were unusually emotional and have been cursed with undead status. Ghosts roam about at night mostly in or around places of darkness. Most of them hate goodness and life and only exist to draw the essence of life from those still living. Not all ghosts are evil or have sinister intentions, but many do and have no problems in making the living's life an absolute nightmare. Some Ghosts are confined to smaller areas but others can roam about freely, causing havoc where ever they are at the time. Some Ghosts have very specific purposes for their hauntings and will not rest until that purpose has been carried out. This can take years upon years to achieve which is why some hauntings are believed to go on for so long. Another possibilty for Ghosts is improper burial. If a person who dies does not recieve a proper burial, their soul cannot attain the proper rest and they will be trapped here on earth until proper burial has been accomplished. |

| In rare cases, more than Ghost may haunt one specific area. The best example is a ship which has gone down at sea. The spirits die horrible deaths by drowning and often times will haunt the area where the ship went down, or even haunt the ship itself. "Ghost Lights" are thought to be spirits of those who are protecting their loved ones as well as other still living. They to have been spotted near accident scenes and graves. The name Ghost Ship came about from experiences with angry ghosts who still resided on board of ships that they had been on during the sinking. Rarely ships will vanish but turn up again years later without any cargo or passengers, but are extremely haunted. Ghosts should not be taken lightly if you believe you have one hanging about. Though not all ghostly apparitions and spirits mean harm, there are those who are simply pure evil and have no good to offer in the living world. There are many Paranormal Research facilitites around the country who will try and help and investigate any ghostly activity you have encountered. Some hauntings have included knives or forks being thrown across the room. Lights going on and off, tables being over turned, people feeling someone behind them or being touched on the shoulder.
