Where: We have the chapel booked at the University of St. Thomas for May 29, 2004, at 3 p.m. For more information on the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas, click here. The chapel really is a special place to every St. Thomas student. It's a pretty hard place to get married in because of it's popularity, and the restriction that either the bride or groom must be a St. Thomas student, staff, or alumni. We especially like it because St. Thomas has been a good foundation for helping to bring our relationship closer together, as well as the place where we got engaged. top
Registry: We have registered at Target for all of our practical needs, and Pier 1 for the fun stuff. This has definitely been my favorite part so far. top
Bridal Party: We are pleased to announce those who have given us the honor of standing up with us as we profess our vows! Without further ado, here they are: Matron of Honor: Elizabeth Brechtel
Bridesmaids: Gina Davis, Sarah Hokom, Katie Huerta, Bernetta Mulheron, Sarah Mulheron, and Janet Pease.

Best Man: Joshua Brechtel
Groomsmen: Rick Erisman, Eric Johnston, JJ McCleary, Isaiah Mulheron, Joshua Mulheron, John Rodriguez.

Reception: We shall retire to the wonderful St. Francis of Assisi room at the NET center in West St. Paul. Our favorite Italian-ish meal shall then commence, as well as jubiliant dancing and spirited antics. top
Music and Musicians: Currently accepting all volunteers who like to sing and/or can play any instrument whatsoever -- we'll find a way to use you! The more the better! Please ask! top
Officiants: Fr. Tim Mulligan, OFM Conventual, is on the ticket to preside at the ceremony.

Fr. Tim lives in Syracuse, New York and runs the Catholic student ministry at Syracuse University. He has been Susan's spiritual advisor and confidant for the last few years, and part of our relationship from the very beginning. We're honored to have his presence at the wedding!

Travel: We realize many of you will come from the ends of the Earth to join us for the party, and we want to make your visit as smooth as possible. The reason the wedding is on a holiday weekend is that we hope it will make it easier for you out-of-towners to join us, and that you will consider staying the day on Sunday to hang out with us! We don't want you to come all that way and not get a chance to catch up with you, so if it's at all possible, try to plan not to leave until Monday. We will send you more information in the invitations, which will be coming in late March or early April. top
Bride's Bio: Susan was born April 6, 1982 in Caldwell, Idaho. After high school she attended Syracuse University for two years, and converted to Catholicism on Easter of her Freshman year. After Freshman year, she studied Latin at UC Berkeley for a summer (during which time she began to talk to Jeremiah through MSN Catholic Chat), and during summer of 2002 worked as a counselor on the Adolescent Program Team at Camp Gray. She transferred to the University of St. Thomas the next fall, and spent a semester through St. Thomas in Rome, Italy. Susan spent the past summer seeing her family in Idaho and working in St. Paul. This fall she is returning to UST (where she is a Catholic Studies and Philosophy major, with minors in Legal Studies and History) for her senior year and eagerly anticipates graduation in May, just a week before the wedding! top
Groom's Bio: Jeremiah was born November 4, 1978 in Barron, Wisconsin. Third in a line of five children, he likes to refer to himself as "the cream in the Oreo." After graduating high school, he served as a volunteer for a year with NET Ministries, and spent the next few following years living in the St. Paul area, working at the Turkey Plant in Barron driving a forklift, and taking classes at Inver Hills Community College. The summer of 2002 he also worked as a counselor on the Adolescent Program Team at Camp Gray, and also transferred to the University of St. Thomas the next fall. Jeremiah spent a semester in Rome, Italy, as well, and is now back in St. Paul to complete his degree in Entreprenuership with minors in Catholic Studies and Philosophy.top
Engagement Story: On Friday, October 04, 2002, Jeremiah took me (Susan) out to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse (MMMMMMM). Then we got mint mochas from Caribou coffee (where Jeremiah works) and headed out to downtown Minneapolis to see Triple Espresso (a comedy play show thingee). Afterward we went back to St. Paul and stopped in for Adoration for about 45 minutes. Then (this is the *really* good part), Jeremiah gets even more romantic.

There is a "tradition" at St. Thomas that in order to become a true Tommie you have to kiss another Tommie under the arches on campus at midnight. We've always joked that it's something we need to do. So after Adoration (about 11: 45 p.m.) Jeremiah says we should go become true Tommies. I think it's cute and we go down to campus. After a few minutes of shadow puppets while waiting for midnight to come around, we stepped under the arches and officially became Tommies (wink wink).

We have a "liturgy" that we do every night before say goodnight which entails checking in with each other, asking what the best part of our day was, and what we would like each other to pray about. It all started back when we first began dating, because we noticed all our conversations at the end of the day were ending in about the same fashion. So, like true Catholics, we added the sign of the cross and a certain order to it and called it our own personal liturgy. So ANYWAY while we were standing under the arches Jeremiah suggests that we do the liturgy. So we make the sign of the cross and begin. He is supposed to first ask me what the best thing that happened to me that day is, but instead he told me he'd like to ask me a different question.

So he got down on his knee and said very sweet miah-like things and asked me to marry him. He put in my hand the ring that we had picked out during a moment of romantic sillyness back in March during a visit to Idaho. And you can imagine what happened next. Me bawling and us jumping around laughing and crying and swing dancing. THEN (this boy never quits) Jeremiah pulls a dozen red roses out from a hiding spot he had arranged earlier. It was overwhelming and amazing and joyful and triumphant and I could go on and on and on (Jeremiah is laughing at me for putting triumphant in there but it goes with the Christmas song).

After walking around a bit on the St. Thomas campus we head back to Jeremiah's place and make smoothies. MMMMMM. And they lived happily ever after. Amen. ;-)

Our Lives Today: Currently, Jeremiah and Susan are both chippin' away at the fall semester at UST. We are both supervisors at our respective places of work, namely Caribou Coffee for Jeremiah and Starbucks Coffee for Susan. :: gasp :: I KNOW!top
Future Plans: As of yet, Susan is still in limbo about the big scarey world of a college graduate. She no longer plays with the possibility of attending law school, but she would still someday like to have a job that would satisfy her legal vein. Currently, like all college grads and soon to be grads, she still has no real job and is currently in the process of seeing just what is out there.

Jeremiah is beginning the entreprenuership program at St. Thomas this fall, and plans to open his own business within the next few coming years.
