Day In Brief:SF to GrovelandYosemite ValleyStargazing

Lodgings: Groveland Motel

"Departed San Francisco for Yosemite National Park in the late morning, reaching Groveland at 3 pm, after a 4 hour drive and an hour's break for lunch of Mexican food. Groveland was the base where we would be staying for our visit to Yosemite.

Groveland is a rather small town, that has a rather cosy kind of feeling in that it gives one the impression that, everyone in the town would know one another. Only a main street runs through Groveland where shophouses line both sides of the street. Walking from one end of the street to the other in the cool weather would more or less cover the main parts of Groveland I suppose ;)"

In front of Groveland Motel and next to the car that we had for the entire trip. Took the chance to take a photo with the car on the very first day we got it. Before it got too dirty from all our travelling..:P

"Our motel is along this main street, opposite across the road from which is a grocery store that is open from 5am till 12 am. This certainly brought about a lot of convenience!"
"Following which, we proceeded to Yosemite National Park via the Big Oak Flat Entrance and headed towards Yosemite Valley"

Hanging high in the branches of a fallen Sequoia tree in Yosemite Valley. Guess this marks the start of all the climbing that I got to do on the trip :P

Stargazing " As we left Yosemite Valley only after night has fallen, we were treated to a splendid view of the night sky on our way back. I never did know that there were so many stars in the sky that can be seen by the human eye. Indeed...many of the constellations were so visible, not that I know of that many in the first place ;p The sight of endless twinkling stars in the seamless night sky left me awe-struck and simply inspired. Stopped the car for a while by the side of the road to do some form of star-gazing before heading back to the motel."
Simply Unforgettable
