US West Coast Escapade 2001

Time to Say Goodbye

Guess this was a day of goodbyes. As the 2 guys took different flights, so we ended up sending the 2 of them off at different times and at different places :)

San Jose Airport.

At the Cross Roads

Come to think of it, I think all of us show a myraid of different expressions when it comes to saying goodbye. Many do it with sunny smiles...guess I'm the only one who's really really sentimental when it comes to parting :)

San Francisco in 12 hours
Having been used to travelling as a foursome in the States, guess it feels kind of funny to be walking about the streets of SF with only myself and Carol. :)

Anywayz, after checking out of our hotel with all our luggage bags, Carol and I deposited a total of 7 bags with the very friendly bell-hop and went shopping in the streets of SF. The kind of shopping that we would have done in Singapore.

So...it was an intensive shopping trip where we popped into the major shopping complexes along market street such as the SF Shopping Centre, the Virgin Store..etcetc..we turned the corner to shop at Macy's as well. Having heard so much about the famed cheesecake factory from the guys, we decided to give it a try too. However, much to our dissapointment, the cheesecake factory was too crowded and as such, we could only have a glimpse of its menu from the outside. Sighz....

Oh well, as the night fell and the sky darkened, we decided to pop back to the Holiday Inn to wait for our coach to get us to the SFO as we were not adventurous enough to try the streets of SF at night :)

Guess it was really a memorable and nostalgic experience as we were driven out from the Holiday Inn towards the SFO. Could still remember arriving in SF in the afternoon 30 days ago, being awed by the sights of SF and SF Bay. SF at night presents a totally different view.

We came in the day and left in the night :) Oh well.....guess this kind of wraps up the entire trip. It was a fantastic one, one that will be etched in my memory forever. A memory that I would look fondly back upon all the time. I'm sure :)
