Mastermind is known as the Keeper of the Rhymes, and with good reason.  Prior to teaming up with Te, Mastermind won many slam poetry contests and freestyle battles.  He has appeared as an uncredited collaborator on several well-known hip-hop albums.

Born in 1975, Mastermind's potential was quickly realized and his parents made every effort to encourage his love of music.  His skills truly came out when he began studying philosophy.  It was this self-education that led him to be able to create the skillful and intricate lyrics that are his trademark.  Several of the articles he has written in the field of philosophy have been printed in major academic publications.  Currently, a collection of his essays is under consideration for publication.

Along with his self-training in philosophy came a social conscience, which is evident on many of the Singularity Project's tracks.  Mastermind identifies with the oppressed peoples of the world, and seeks for a way to aid them.  Much of the profit that he made from their first album was donated to various activist groups.  It is also a little known fact that Mastermind spent time in Chiapas aiding the EZLN, or Zapatista Liberation Army.  It was from Subcomandante Marcos that Mastermind truly found his gift for words and language.  Awed by  Marcos' eloquence, Mastermind hopes to one day become as well-spoken and learned as Marcos.

Currently, Mastermind has been out of reach as he has been holed up in his home attempting to complete a solo album and an historical novel set during the Civil War
