A-TEENS IN POP MAGAZINE
For the A*Teens Marie, Dhani, Sara and Amit, the road to worldwide fame has been a fun one. From their start back in 1998, the A*Teens have gone about the task of making records and performing live with ever-present smiles, and music made for good times with good vibes. From their breakout debut, The Abba Generation, which featured mostly classic Abba tunes remixed for today's teens, to their comeback hit album, Teen Spirit, the A*Teens have never faltered but they have changed. No longer a one dimensional cover band, the A*Teens have developed their own style of making great pop music, and have grown from young teen cuties to full-on teen heartthrobs. And now, with the release of Pop 'Til You Drop on June 18th, they'll take another huge step in making it to the top.
The A*Teens, who won over fans while touring with the elite of U.S. pop, like *NSYNC and Britney Spears, throw most critics a curve ball by being a group that mixes girls with boys, as well as features four equally talented performers. All the A*Teens can sing, and they dance up a storm together on stage. And while their last two releases have sold well over a million copies each in the U.S. alone (the A*Teens are huge in Europe and in countries around the world), they're expecting even bigger things from their 2002 release, which features all original music, except one notable exception, the first single "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You."
Leading off with a cover song as a single, especially one performed by Elvis, is typical of the out-of-the-blue nature for the explosive pop group. And American fans will be in luck this season, as the A*Teens will be hitting the states hard this summer with that first single featured in the Lilo & Stitch Disney movie and a spot on the Radio Disney Summer Tour, which opens in July. We're sure the A*Teens will once again be supplying some of the best performances and music that makes your summer feel young and alive, and with all the live appearances, we're sure you'll have a hard time not falling in love with the A*Teens too!
