Marriage Verses

What do you think about the Bible? Here are some verses I have gathered from the Bible that I believe are very important to be understood and followed in order for a possible marriage to work. I have attached a couple of links at the bottom for websites which deal with more in-depth Biblical issues that are generally from the approach I accept in terms of living a spiritual life with God from a Biblical interpretation.

If you would like to ask any question whatsoever upon a specific thing you are wondering about concerning certain verses, then please send me a message about it and I will share with you what I believe the Lord wishes us to know about it based in what the Bible says.

SOUND BIBLICAL DOCTRINE

I believe that many groups today teach and bring about false doctrines and false teachings concerning many verses in the Bible that they interpret incorrectly. It is important for all of us to have a deep interest in the Bible so that we will not be led about by whatever new doctrine is popular at the time and that even our own close friends may want us to accept as well. Here are a few verses that speak about the importance of sound doctrine.

Romans 16:16-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1 Timothy 4:12-14 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1 Timothy 4:15-17 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Titus 1:8-10 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Hebrews 13 : 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.

Biblical Attitude

What is the approach you think you should have in dealing with others and men in particular as a woman? For attitudes relating to dealing with each other and other people I endeavor (through the empowering of the Holy Spirit) to obey a humble approach to living and dealing with others, as this is the way I believe God wishes us to be.

Romans 12:15-17 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Deuteronomy 8:1-3 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Proverbs 29:22-24 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Isaiah 57:14-16 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Matthew 18:3-5 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Concerning Women's Issues.

Do you believe that men and women have been given differing roles to live in this life? I believe that from the beginning in the garden of Eden, woman was made for man.(GEN 2:21-23, 1COR 11:8-10). In a marriage which is guided by the love, grace and will of God, a godly woman humbles herself to the order that God set up for her as she relates to her husband. Many honorable women are spoken about in scripture as well as wicked ones. All Christian women should consider the example of the honorable ones even though other "Christians" may tell them it is not important for them to do so anymore.

What kind of view do you have inside you about the idea of being "obedient" to a man? I do not have a desire to guide and be the authority over my wife in a wicked way, but I do believe I am to fulfil this role as I am to be the authority in my family according to the will and principles of God. All rulers or authority figures are not evil, only evil rulers are evil. God rules us, but we don't call Him evil do we? His love, grace, wisdom and favor makes His rulership good, enjoyable, pleasant and joyous for us even though we may sometimes not think it is at the time.

With the Holy Spirit guiding me through the fruits of the Spirit, my wife can enjoy being led by me as I am guided by God. Marriage has an order that was created by God, if people want to have a good long lasting and enjoyable marriage, they should follow the blueprint that God has given to us concerning it. It is still the same and can be found from the studying the principles that are found within the Bible.

Although there is an order for marriages to follow that God created, many people do not care to follow the wishes or will of God and this brings many problems to many marriages throughout the world among believers and non believers. Because of the sins that some men and women bring into marriages I am interested in helping to fight many issues for abused women (and men) throughout the world as I do not believe a wife or husband (even a Christian one) is to accept some of the many types of evil actions which some spouses perpetuate throughout the world. There are many issues which have been abused in terms of male-female relationships throughout history that are wrong and not Biblical and not acceptable. In a Christian marriage, a man and a woman are both to act in the ordained honorable way that God created them for. As they do that by the grace of God, they will be blessed and be able to live the type of marriage which is loving, honorable and enjoyable that the whole world keeps searching for but cannot find outside of the love and grace of God.

Some scriptures to meditate upon.

Genesis 2:22-24 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Ruth 3:10-12 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.

Proverbs 9:12-14 A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

Proverbs 11:15-17 A gracious woman retaineth honour

Proverbs 12:3-5 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 27:14-16 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.

Proverbs 30:19-21 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

Ecclesiastes 7:27-29 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.

Matthew 9:21-23 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Proverbs 31:2-4 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Isaiah 3:11-13 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Luke 1:27-29 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

1 Corinthians 14:33-36 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

I have put a few links from other Christian groups here that I like to visit sometimes. I especially like the Audio Bible link as you can listen to any part of the Bible in the English KJV translation any time you want. Cultlink is also good which is an organization which exposes the false teachings of many of the fraudulent Christians out there in the world today especially those in the TV evangelist world. The Spurgeon link has many archived sermons of his recorded for you to read and listen to over the internet through your computer speakers in a program called Real Audio.

I would be glad to hear from you.
