| Waiting |
| The arrow flys, over a shiftless lake, As the cold sets in like a stealthy snake. The moon climbs on, though the blackened night, As though trying to get a better sight. She sit's there waiting for one not to come. Picking up her late, She begins to strum. He has been gone a year, no less no more, He left to fight in that awful war. She knew he had to, his family poor, But sadly he was last seen walking out the door. She has waited every day, never losing hope, Until one day she got a terrible note. He was lost in duty. This news tightened her throat. It said his condition was unknown, He had left on a spy mission alone. She knew he was probably not coming back, But she never lost hope, even after that. As the years past and she grew old, People around her grew cold. They would say "It is pointless to wait around, For something that will never be found." But she would ignore them and say, "I don't just wait, I sit and pray, I tell God that I will stay with him forever, Declaring I will stray never." And with that they left her alone. With her last breath she moaned, Take me God so I will be with him at last. And with that the ending passed The point of the story is that, God is every were you are at, And if you pray he will hear that. The End |
