The Calthorpe Project Garden When I first walked in Kings Cross, I wondered how anyone could live in such a miserable place. I was therefore stunned to stumble across this imaginative urban oasis. What's more, it was built by the local people after fighting against a proposal to build offices on the site! So maybe only amazing people can live in this place ;-). London at night Covent Garden/Leicester Square the lights, the people, the theatres, the parties... River Thames drive over any of the illuminated bridges...but NOT during rush hour ;-) South Bank National Theatre, The Globe, London Eye, OxO tower, frequent impromptu street parties and entertainment Oxford My love of Oxford made Pullman's His Dark Materials even more appealling, if that is possible. If you can, find a way to stay in a college room and experience the town's student life. For some reaon I am also captivated by the Physic garden. There's a famous one in Chelsea (London) as well but I experienced the magic in Oxford!
