Iolite crystallizes in the form of masses, grains, and short prysmatic crystals. The color range includes blue, brown, yellow, dark violet, grey and green. Iolite is called the "violet stone". Iolite is used in shamanic healing ceremonies to stimulate visions, and to promote accuracy within the vision. It is useful for balancing the yin-yang energies and promotes the release of discord from one's life. Iolite is used to treat liver disorders, to diminish fatty deposits, and to rid the body of toxins. Used to treat malaria, Iolite is also effective for treating other fever-producing disorders.
