Diopside crystallizes in the form of masses, thin plates, grains, and slender prismatic crystals. The color range includes colorless, white, black, yellow, grey, green, and red-brown. Diopside has been used to stimulate the intellect, and to provide one with objectivity. It enhances the yin (female) qualities, and facilitates the ability to cry in those that have difficulty doing so. Diopside has been used in the treatment of psychological disorders, and assists in the treatment of general physical weaknesses. It can be used to remedy muscle spasms, and has proven to act as a calming agent for pets.
