My Linda Eder Experiences
WAHOOOOO! I FINALLY GOT TO MEET HER!!!
I'll start at the begining.
(12:30)I leave school and head with my mom to the Kennedy Center After getting stressed out about traffic, we get there.
(12:58)We get inside, and my mom insists on going to the bathroom. We find it, but there's a huge line, so we decide to wait and find one at the Concert hall.
(1:02) We ask a guy who worked there for directions to the nearest bathroom. He says there's one at the cocnert hall and points us in the wrong direction. I'm glad he did, because I look up and see a limo and think to myself "Haha! I bet that's her limo or something". Then I see some guy walk by with a dress bag thing and I think "heehee. Thats kinda ironic". Then I look up again and see her STANDING RIGHT THERE!!!! I stop dead in my tracks and grab my mom's arm. I feel . . .. the only word I can find is numb.  SHE LOOKS STRAIGHT AT ME, SMILES, AND QUICKENS HER PACE THROUGH THE STAGE DOOR!!!! Me and my mom go balistic!!!!
(1:12) We find the concert hall bathroom and ten call my dad at work, because everyone I know is still at school. He's not excited at all.
(1:21) We spend the next 9 inutes giggling about going to the stage door after, now that we know where it is.
(2:10ish) The National Symphony Orchastra finishes playing and then there's intermission. I begin to loose the feeling in my legs.
(2:35)Then there's the concert, and It is absolutly amazing! After she does an outstanding "Don't Rain on my Parade" some guy yells out it was better than Barbra ever did it. He was right! At the end she sings "Vienna" with the whole orchestra. That was beyond real! Absolutly incredible!
(3:40)Then, too soon, it's over. On our way out, and elderly couple behind us says "Boy, can that gal sing!' and I have to turn around and tell them her whole story.
(3:45ish) We move down the hall to the stage door we found by accident.   There are four other people waiting for her. The crowd from the concert is over near the elevators. We start to talk about all the reasons that she won't come out when. . . . .
(3:55ish) SHE COMES OUT! I go all numbish again, unable to believe that I'm within a . . . 5 yard radius of Her. She talks to the other people and poses for pictures. We edge closer. Soon, we're kinda on the outside of the group. Then  one of the women comes up to me and says "Are you Andrea?" I'm totally psyched out,  but it turned out to be Judy from Baltimore, and the Linda Eder message board, who also emailed me about this concert. I kinda mumble "yeah." She pushes me toward Linda, who, looking like she's ready to leave, takes my program and starts signing it, and says "This is your biggest fan!" She kinda stopps, and looks up, and smiles, then finishes signing my program. I say "The concert was incredible," and she says "Thank you. What's your online name?" and I say "Pussywillow8." She kinda nods and poses for a picture. Then she turns to me, handing my my program and says "So you want to be a singer?" and I (still in absolute awe, mind you) "yeah." She says "Good luck with that," and smiles. Then waves goodbye to everyone, and leaves.
(4:05ish) We get back to the car, and THEN (Thank GAWD not 'til then), I break into tears. IT WAS AMAZING!!!
