About
Baby Feet
|
| There is no doubt that bare foot for baby is best. However, this is not always practical so it is important that the right shoes are selected from an early age. 1Babies love to go barefoot, trying out a variety of surfaces to see how each one feels beneath their feet, and that barefoot stimulation is great for their sensory education. So why force them into
shoes? The fact is, shoes help babies develop coordination as they learn how to stand and walk. So it great that
Leather Baby Shoes shoes are fun and colourful that aid in that coordination process. |

When
to Start wearing shoes
|
| "The most useful time for a baby to start wearing
shoes is when they're able to grab things and stand," says Dr. Hongsheng Zhu of Orthopaedic Associates of Waukesha. "Shoes with firm insoles give babies a lever to push off of, which makes walking a bit easier." Right size keeps baby in shoes Mark Bernhagen, says that if a baby can wiggle out of a pair of
shoes easily, they're probably not the right size. |

What
to Look for in Baby Shoes
|
| Flexible soles help babies get used to having something on their feet while learning to get around. And with all the energy little ones put into learning how to walk, Bernhagen advises looking for shoes made out of "breathable" material. "Babies' feet get really hot because they exert a lot of energy, so it's important that the shoe lets their feet 'breathe.' A shoe made with unlined leather is ideal for a baby. So at
Leather Baby Shoes all are shoes are unlined to take this important point into consideration as well as offering soft flexible suede sole. |

Does
The Shoe Fit ?
|
"Shoe sizes change very quickly for babies," says Bernhagen. "The first few pairs of shoes a baby wears will only fit her for three months at the most. "A 3/4-high or high-top shoe lends support and also helps keep the foot from slipping out," says Bernhagen.
With a lot of wiggling and bouncing going on, it can be tough to know whether or not a pair of shoes fits a baby. But letting your baby try on a pair of shoes, observing her stance and gait, is worth the trouble. After all, shoe sizes tend to vary from brand to brand, and buying a shoe that doesn't fit isn't worth your time or money.
"When a baby is standing, bearing weight, there should be no pressure points on the feet," says Bernhagen. "The
shoes should go on easily, and where the big toe is, there should be a quarter-inch space between it and the
shoe." What about buying shoes that your baby can "grow into?"
If they're too big, the baby will trip more and have a harder time moving his feet, which could end up frustrating him to the point where he'd rather just crawl than walk. With a proper fit, you might just find your baby keeping those shoes on longer than you ever thought possible. |

About
Babies and flat Feet
|
When a baby is born its feet are quite flat but as the baby grows and learns to walk unaided, arches develop on the inner edges of the feet.
These arches are formed as the muscles of the feet and legs develop in strength while the The fatty pads which normally fill this area slowly disappear. Arches don't usually appear until the child reaches the age of three or four years.
If those arches do not develop properly for any reason then the child will have flat feet. This condition is not as common as many parents suspect.
You shouldn't make the diagnosis of flat feet until your child is four years old. The arches are still developing until that time so any such diagnosis would be quite premature.
At that age you can best judge whether or not your child has flat feet by getting them to stand on tiptoes. You should then be able to see the arch developing, even if one wasn't obviously present when your child was standing with his feet flat on the ground.
It is sometimes said the diagnosis of flat feet can be made by looking at the part of the shoes where the greatest amount of wear has taken place. If your child wears down the heels and soles of his
shoes on the inner side, there may be a problem.
Another trick is to get the child to stand in water and then put their feet onto a plain piece of paper. If the feet are a normal shape they will show a classic 'footprint' pattern but if the feet are flat then the whole foot will leave an outline on the paper.
If a child complains of pains in his feet after modest exercise then a diagnosis of flat feet is certainly worth consideration.
To encourage the feet to develop properly, encourage your child to walk about in bare feet as often as possible. Ensure -that when shoes are worn they fit well and provide good support.
If your child does have flat feet, try not to worry. Only about one in every 20 children with the condition grows up to have them as an
adult. The most useful way to help a child who definitely has flat feet is to provide shoes with what is known as an inner raise.
A small extra piece of leather is tacked onto the heel of the child's shoes to increase the height of the heel by a fraction of a centimetre, but this must be done by a professional.
An inner raise will help your child acquire a better walking habit and a better arch within a couple of years. These raises aren't usually necessary after a child reaches the age of nine.
