As my first year began...
My parents told me that if you do well in school, your life will be very easy. As I graduated from Junior High School, my parents were proud me and said "You made it this far and now get ready for a bigger challenge!". My parents wanted me to choose a high school that was really good for education. I also wanted a High School that could give me a good education. I know going to High School was going to be a hard step in my life. High School is hard, but it's making life more easier. As I began my freshman year I learned bew ad challening things. I noticed that High School is hard than my other schools. I choose to come to Thomas Edison because of the special programs they have. When I went to elementry school; it was 2 blocks away, Junior High; about 15 blocks away. Now I go to High School, Which is miles and miles away from my hose. I took the train to Jamica for the first time and I saw some things that I never seen efore. This helped me to learn new ways to approach life.
As my freshman year began, I learned many new and challening things. I learned some math that I never heard of and science that I never imagined to learn of. It was like all of the information was made up! But as I was learning it, I got more knowledge of science and math. At first I wasn't doing so well with math and science, So I kept on practing and practing. I evenually got used to it and ask for more challening problems. In my global class, I learned aout many different religions, races, and countries. I learned new information about the world that I also never heard of. Now if someone asks me something asks me something about the stuff that I learned, I will evenually answer them and not be like , yeah okay, uh-uh Oh yeah! So learning new and challening things was very interesting and I enjoyed it.
When I was seven years old, I saw a machine that I really wanted, but as I got older I found out it was a computer! When I got my first computer, I started to play games on it and do some really interesting things. I loved to use the computer since I was 8 years. When I was in Junior High school and was applying for a High School and saw THOMAS EDISON and thge speacial programs. When i saw the page in the book where it said computers in edison, I was like okay that the one I am going to! There were other High schools with computer programs, But not mas many as Thomas Edison. As I started school here I thought I would get the computer programs as soon as I start, But you actually get it your sophmore year. In the past I have taken some computer classes and learned how to use and build a computer. So if i get accepted to the course where I have to build a computer I would be like this is too easy! I want to do the course called "CISQO" because I haven't seen and learn much of networking. So I really look forward to the CISQO course. This course can build up my career, and that was one of the reasons that I came to Thomas Edison.
When I was little, I didn't go to many places my self. But with my family I went to too many places, Some that I tcan't even think of. Now I go to Thomas Edison and I have to wake up at 6:00 and get the "7" train , then transfer to the "F" train and then wait aout 30 minutes to get to my school! I mean it takes an hour to get to school! WHOA! My other schools it could 5-7 minutes.
Jamaica is one of the places that I never heard of or been to before I went to this school! Jamaica is totally different from where I live. I have seen much more crimes then I see near my place. I have met people of differnet color. The schools I went to before were easy and I could hand in the work after it was due! But in this school I learned how to take care of deadlines. In this school, the work is not accepted late. So this was a totally different experience. This all helped me to learn new ways to apporach life.
High School is hard, but it's making life easier. I agree with that because I am learning things that I never thought of or seen before. I am also getting a ahead start of the special programs that I wanted to learn when I graduate from High School. Now that I am going to High school I am also learning to meet different people and different ways to apporach life. I have learned many new things, such as math, science, how to tkae care of deadlines and be to school on time or else detention! High School is not a joke, If you fool around, you just get kicked out and mess up your chance to build your career and have a chance to be what you wanted to be. So High School is a big step in my life which is hard, but it is making my own life very easy.
