I have done Diploma in Advanced Computing from Centre for Development in
Advance Computing (C-DAC)-Advance Computing Training school.
Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has advented the 'Open
Frame Architecture' for flexible Supercomputing which has been realized in its
celebrated 'PARAM' series of Supercomputers.
C-DAC is committed to nation building through its Advanced Computing Training
School wherein students are being trained. The contents of the course have been
designed keeping in view the emerging trends in advanced computing as well as the
contemporary and futuristic human resource requirements of the IT industry.

The institute offers a six month(24 weeks) full time Diploma course to Engg.
Graduates after a rigorous selection procedure. Selection procedure tests various
skills in computing as well as personal.
Duration of Course : six-months
The course consists of the following modules:

- Programming with Power Builder
- Programming with Visual Basic
- Mastering Java
- Elective Modules :-
- COM Programming
- Data Communication & Networking -II
- Advanced Unix Programming
- Business Computing-II
- Project :- Project can be done in any of the above modules.
Three weeks are given for the analysis & the design of the project
and then four weeks are given for the implementation of the project.
Evaluation Procedure for all modules :-
Every student has the option of attempting each of the modules at either
of the two levels - Proficiency or Competency. A student who feels he has
attained a high level of profiiency in the subject can undertake the Proficiency
level examination for that module. The examination for Proficiency level tests
the students' knowledge of that module very rigorously. a student who feels
that he has grasped the concepts but has not attained mastery in it may attempt
the examination at the Competency level in which the students' knowledge is
accessed in terms of his famisliarity with the concepts. The final score of the
modules offered at Competency level is normalised to 70%.
