| Who We Are |
| Ms. Wever is the Founder of Performance Wellness and a co-founder of Stage Fright Solutions. In Europe she taught workshops Sing from your Heart and Soul based on the work of Wesley Balk. Wilma Wever is currently on the voice faculty of AMDA, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and is a member of NYSTA (New York Singing Teachers Association). She also taught voice and piano at the Douglaston School for Music and Art, and was in charge of the Musical theater program. In 2000 she was on the voice faculty of the Lucia Marthas Dance Academy and the Muziekpakhuis in Amsterdam, Holland and was the vocal coach for Motel Films Holland. Ms. Wever has been recognized by the New York Times for being �attractive and engaging� in the eponymous role in the world premiere of Jocasta, an opera by Ruth Schonthal with the Voice & Vision Theatre in New York City. Also in New York, she debuted with Encompass Opera as the �Marchesa� in Henze�s The End Of A World and as Ms. Edison in a reading of Tesla, an opera by Kievman for VOX, a presentation of new works by New York City Opera. Recently she performed Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore with Espresso Opera. In addition to her operatic and concert work Ms. Wever has performed numerous recitals in distinguished venues in The Netherlands and in New York such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Holland and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Recognized by the Music Connoisseur as a performer with �savvy and grit� Ms. Wever appeared in numerous contemporary music concerts in the U.S. as well as in the Netherlands and performed the world premiere of songs by Victor Kioulaphides in the well known Noonday Concert Series in Trinity Church in New York. The song cycle For Three Sundays by Kevin Beavers was commissioned by her for a project called Round Trip Amsterdam-New York, for which she received a grant from the Netherland-America Foundation, the Amsterdam Art Foundation in the Netherlands, as well as a grant from CitiBank. She also appeared in U.S. premieres of works by Sophia Gubaidulina, Ada Gentile and others and worked with prominent American composers such as Otto Luening, Lucas Foss, George Crumb, Charles Wuorinen and Stefania Kenessey.. Ms. Wever, a Dutch native, graduated at Mannes College of Music in New York with honors. |
