My dad met Manohar uncle in 1996 and they became good friends because of music. Manohar uncle liked composing music & our dad liked singing. So they thought of doing an experimental project "Prema Gaana". Since they didn't know any lyricist here in California, our dad himself penned the lyrics. Since they couldn't get professional instrumentalists they had to settle for synthesized music. Because of the encouragement they received from local friends, they came out with another album called "Bhava Maalika". For this album, Jyothi aunty and Annapoorna aunty wrote few good songs. Ms.K.S.Surekha who was touring with the popular singer C.Aswath sang the female portion of all the songs. Chandru uncle popularly known as Mr.Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, was my dad's friend from the days of Kendadha Male. He happened to be in USA at that time released this album. He graciously agreed to release the album he liked the music and gave Manohar uncle his first break in "America America.." which became superhit. |
