National Museum of Singapore Topping Off Ceremony
Monday Evening, 28 November 2005
Highlight of the ceremony was the relighting of the Dome The structural works for the Singapore History Museum, now re-renamed back to the National Museum, is completed. A ceremony was staged to commemorate the occasion: it was a grand and artistic affair. The invites were impressively well designed as were the programmes. As a taste of the museum's approach, there was a performance by Cake, a young local performance group with a lot of raw creative energy. The performance was good though seemingly constrained by the script. For more photos, please click on the photo.
We are definitely looking forward to the opening of the galleries late next year (though I believe that the Museum will be hosting events from April onwards).

ACM Volunteers Graduation & Appreciation Evening 2005
Thursday Evening, 24 November 2005
A big thanks to ACM for hosting a lovely evening to celebrate the graduation of a new batch of volunteer guides for the ACM! For photos of the evening, you can visit this website:
Graduation & Apreciation Nite
It would be nice if any one of the graduating class could send us a short piece about their experiences and/or feelings about becoming a guide.

On the exhibition front, we are all eagerly awaiting the launch of Power Dressing: Textiles for Rulers and Priests from the Chris Hall Collection. The exhibition will run from 12 December 2005 to 9 April 2006.

Finally, we also have to bid a fond farewell to the current ACM Armenian Street which will be closing for renovations. Anyone want to write something about it and the memories we have of events like the mummy exhibition?
