Mindee Ong is best remembered for her lead role as ‘small papaya’ in Royston Tan’s movie, 881. Her strong performance has garnered her much critics & fame, breaking into new grounds for her acting career.
This talented actress first joined the entertainment industry at 17 years old in 1996, when she secured a place as the youngest finalist in a Talent Search Singing Contest. Since then, she is a familiar face on television shows as well as several mandarin variety programs. Mindee was also named the Babe of the Year in The New Paper’s annual Flame Awards for 2007.
In recent years, Mindee was cast in several short films & tele-movies. She starred as the lead role in the short film, Birthday which garnered the Best Short Film Award at the 2005 Bangkok Short Film Festival. Her other short film, Buy Me Love earned the Winner of MDA film Fiesta-Professional award.
