By Pamela Tan

THE Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) is kicking off a public education programme to raise awareness of responsible pet ownership from Friday.

Pet owners and would-be pet owners can learn how to care for their pets from the AVA and six animal welfare groups - Action for Singapore Dogs, Animal Lovers' League, Cat Welfare Society, House Rabbits Society of Singapore, SPCA and SOS Animals.

Participants can also make a pledge to care for their pets and enjoy pet care demonstrations.

The campaign will be held at Great World City over a period of three days from Nov 19 to 21. Admission is free.

Free shuttle buses to Great World City can be taken from the following places:

·  outside City Hall MRT Station

·  Chinatown (outside OG taxi stand)

·  bus stop in front of CK Tang

·  bus stop behind Wisma Atria (across the road)
