| Cat feeders are often approached by people who are not in favor of feeding strays. These people might threaten to call the police, or might even claim to be some members of the authorities. | |||||||

| Do not be intimidated. Ask for their identifications, if they claim to be members of the authorities. | |||||||
| Explain to them politely that it is not illegal to feed stray cats as long as you are not littering the place. | |||||||
| Do call the police to help resolve the matter if these people get aggressive. | |||||||

You can email the Cat Welfare Society at [email protected] to obtain the Responsible Feeding pamphlet. The pamphlet states among other facts, that feeding cats is not illegal, as long as you clear the leftover catfood. It also mentions that you can resolve the dispute by calling the police to assist. You could show the Responsible Feeding pamphlet to anyone who questions you about feeding stray cats. | |||||||
| If you like, you could also inform the neighbourhood police, that you are a stray-cat feeder and give them the details of your feeding area and time. On the Responsible Feeding pamphlet, there is a form where you can fill up the details, for you to hand to your neighbourhood police post. | |||||||
| Hence in the future, if anyone tries to stop you from feeding cats, or/and threatens to call the police, do not be alarmed or intimidated. Just handle the situation with care. | |||||||
