January 25

Friends,

It's with a heavy heart that I inform you that Sing! Sing! Prison will cease band status. After Three EPs, a 7", and 61 shows in the better part of this past year, our drummer, Andrew Boudouris, has decided to leave. He will be moving to New Jersey for the summer to persue his other band Polyphony, and has no intention of coming back home. Although I've played with Andrew since 10th grade, and it's incredibly difficult to do, I am his friend before I am his bandmate, and thus plan on supporting him in his decision. Harper and I wish him the best of luck, and we hope that you do the same. Because this is just as sudden for us as it is for you (we found out last night), we plan on finishing out our prior commitments. We will release our 7" split with Mass Movement of the Moth hopefully by early March. We have planned a week long tour to do what we can to support both our split, and our forthcoming EP, which due to circumstance, will not be as elaborately produced and packaged. So, On March 4, we start in Harrisonburg, and on the 12th, we end here for good in the basement of Crayola House.

So if you're in the area for any of the remaining dates listed above, come to our shows and get our MEGA DISCOUNT MERCH. We've got plenty of CD's, stickers, buttons, and tshirts just sitting around that we'll need to get rid of. Also, there was a lot of talk about hoodies. If you're still interested in a hoodie, I'll personally get them printed, but only if you give me your name, address, and size. I can't really afford to print them in bulk, mainly because we're spending most of our money on tour. I also don't want 35 Sing! Sing! Prison Hoodies in a box in my room for the rest of my life. So, if you send me that information on IM at Matthuel12, through email at [email protected], or through a myspace message at www.myspace.com/singsingprison, and you can also arrange a place to pick up the hoodie (IE a show) or are willing to throw down an extra 2 or 3 dollars for shipping, I'll mail it right to your doorstep!

So I suppose this is the break we've all been complaining about. I'll actually get to see my girlfriend, which will be excellent, although I don't think she realizes that without this band she's going to get sick of me. You can always find Harper in his PJs at Crayola, I guarentee you. We'll probably be playing risk on Sega Genesis and listening to Benton Falls. Don't you dare think you've seen the last of us, Harrisonburg and accompanying state of Virginia. Harper and I play in another band, Daylight in Vegas, which will hopefully start picking up now that things with Sing! Sing! are coming to an end. We'll miss talking to you at shows, we'll miss your crazy messages, we'll miss playing with our best friends Mass Movement of the Moth on a daily basis. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you've given us. The friendships, the good times, and the crazy memories. Love,

Matt Leech

SICK AGAIN! So I've gotten two sinus infections, a cold, pneumonia, and this week my body has the privelege of hosting the flu. Take your vitamins!

We've been on kind of a break lately. We've written a bunch of new songs, and played a lot of them live. Now we just have to figure out which ones to record, and which one to stick on our 7" with Mass Movement of the Moth on Pink Noise Records (heartless name dropping promotion here). So, my appologies, but I doubt you'll be seeing too much of us around until late February. However, we'll be back with a whole lot of cool stuff! If you'd like a CD, don't hesitate to contact us. We'll mail it to ya! CDs are $6 dollars post paid, and Tshirts are $9. Thanks, take it easy, bundle up!

First of all, I'd like to say that Philadelphia is one of the most intriguing cities I've ever wondered around. I'd also like to say that Mass Movement of the Moth is so much better than you and anyone else you know. At everything. Stop trying. Also the country bumpkin that runs sound at Alley Katz is the biggest, most ignorant asshole I've ever met in charge of a mixing board. That being said, this past week has treated us splendidly, And I couldn't be more greatful to have a safe, mishap-free adventure with my two best friends. Although at times we're ready to jump out of the tourmobile and scream because Harper DRIVES LIKE A GRANDMA!!!!, we still realize we're so lucky to be able to share 5 or 6 songs a night with willing, honest people. The most enormous thank you's to Andrew from Pattern is Movement, Jordan Perry and the rest of the harrisonburg house in Philly, The guy that made me a real live philly cheese steak, Mike and Jessica in Baltimore, you crazy Moth kids, Katie, Danny, and Kyle from FuNFaX!, Cities from NC, and the bookers and promoters that helped us out in RVA. We're eternally greatful for your hospitality, couches, food, and company.

So now Andrew leaves for four days to play with his other band, Polyphony. Harper watches Samurai Jack, and I divide my time between my girlfriend and my guitar until we can practice some more. BUT WHO CARES! It's CHRISTMAS/CHANNAFasdfaKUCAH HOWEVER YOU SPELL IT! Party Dowwwwnnn!!!

December 9

RaIn SuCKs! It's exam week here, and I'm desperate to get my hands on some christmas spirit, but I don't think that's happening in the next couple days. I for one am just happy to get out and play some shows, see my family, and spend time with my girlfriend who I rarely get to see nowadays. We're all desperately in need of some time away. On the bright side, we're excited/ready/not too sick for tour. Northeast, we're still unsure whether or not we're coming to visit you this time. Hopefully we'll know really soon. Regardless, the shows posted above are confirmed. If you'd like any further information on them, email [email protected], or contact me on aim at Matthuel12.

New merch! Buttons by Kim of Oh No, Tokyo! Old tshirts are being re-printed, along with some new ones, and hopefully some hoodies really soon. Unfortunately, our 7" with Mass Movement of the Moth won't be out in time for Christmas, but hopefully you can grab one really soon after that, thanks to Pink Noise Records. The Moth Kids have a ton of dates in late December, and they're also doing a short tour with their friends Polar (ex Dance Danse El Capitan) up north. Go see them, you won't regret it! So, If you'd like something, but can't make it out to one of the dates above, again just email or IM us. We'll work something out.

New links, new pictures, new songs! Come see us! AAAAHHHH!

December 7

We are so excited (I can't get too excited or i start to cough a lot) to have made friends with Pink Noise Records. Those friendly folks have decided to lend a helping hand to ourselves, and our good friends Mass Movement of the Moth and put out our split. We love you, we love you, we're so excited. 600 copies of these bad boys will be released tentatively sometime early next year, after Moth and Sing! Sing! both record late this month. COLORS!?!?!?!?! any suggestions?! God I love vinyl...

Matt and his pneumonia.

December 3

ATTN: Blnk8strs, or similar IM screenname. I'm terribly sorry we didn't bring you your c.d.s, I have the flu/pneumonia, and am trying really really hard to recover. Please I.M. me and we'll work something out.

YAY YAY YAY we're playing with Fin Fang Foom of Lovitt Records and Bellafea of Exotic Fever Records at (oh my god) Crayola House. This should be way too much fun for one night in the burg.

We're debating on what to do for the 12-15, so sorry northeast if we have to say, "see you next time." We'll see you all soon. I am on so much medicine. Watch out for pneumonia!

Matt

November 30

Good evening! We're back from a weekend of shows. Charlottesville and Fredericksburg went really well. Now I'm sick. You suck, virus. We got to play with Worn In Red, one of the most amazing bands I've seen in a really long time. I'm really sweating their stuff right now because it's been a while since someone played the type of music their doing. GO SEE THEM if you have the chance. Hurry up and record, already!

I'm sorry I'm slacking on the pictures page. Once again, if you've got anything you want to send to us that we could stick on the site, we'll take it.

So nothing much to report back on. Tour is shaping up with the help of Heroes and Hearsay. More buttons, tshirts, CDs, and hoodies to be printed in the coming weeks, hopefully. Email us if you'd like anything. What it is, jive turkey!

November 22

So there's been a buffalo to the right on my screen for about 5 days now, and I still haven't stopped laughing. Thanks for being awesome, Christian.

The Wilson Memorial Battle of the Bands was outstanding. We got to hang out with some friends, see a whole lot of metal, I got to sell my old clothes to just about everyone that walked by the merch table, and we also got 2nd place. It was great to see the ground some other bands had covered since the last time I saw them, and as always, it's nice to see people go to shows in the Waynesboro area. A few years ago it seemed damn near impossible to find anyone under the age of 55 to hang out with. I'm going home for thanksgiving break, please hang out with me.

Tour is shaping up. As of now it looks like we're hitting Albany, NY, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, and I forget where else. When everything's confirmed I'll be sure to post it.

PICTURES! I've been trying to compile all of our pictures, and pick some good ones to throw on this site. The only ones up now are from a year and a half ago. Things have changed a lot since then. I'll see if I can have the new pictures page up and running in the next few days. If you've got any pictures of us that you wouldn't mind sharing, or any video footage from a show, we'd love to get our sticky little fingers on them. Contact me at on AIM: Matthuel12 , or Harper by email: [email protected] Thanks much! Au revoir,

Matt

November 17

HEY HEY HEY! website's done, thank you to our good friend Christian from MAss MoVEmENt oF ThE MOth for stealing one of his old designs and working out the kinks. We love you, we love you, we love it. Sing! Sing! will be playing numerous shows to finish out the month before piling into some as of yet unkown form of transportation to play a week and some change worth of dates up and down the east coast. Here are some of them:

November 5: Charlottesville, VA @ Tokyo Rose w/ Cardea and Jefferson Planecrash.
November 19: Waynesboro, VA @ Wilson Memorial w/ Aggrocgrag, Frontline, and more.
November 26: Charlottesville, VA @ Tokyo Rose w/ Worn in Red (ex Skyline Awake), Pash
December 10: Charlottesville, VA @ Tokyo Rose w/ Mass Movement of the Moth, TBA

After that, we're goin' home to get some presents. Then hopefully we'll write the most epic album you'll ever hear. Our split 7" with Mass Movement of the Moth will hopefully be coming out soon. Maybe you could give it to someone for THEIR christmas present. No..I don't know anyone that's been that bad either...

Please please please show our CD to everyone you know. Even people you don't know. Tell your girlfriend about us, no doubt she'll like it. Thanks for everything you've given us, oh beautiful general public. Your food, your hard earned money or particular bartering object, and most of all your support for a form of music that sometimes seems swallowed up by breakdowns. Talk to you when we're famous!

Matt
