                             Story's End...Metamorphosis of a Band

A Brief History ...

As you know, all great bands have to start somewhere.  They need an origin...a beginning if you will.  The current lineup of talent, now in the form of Story's End, is the latest result of many years worth of trials-and-errors...an experiment still in the making, whose main goal is to entertain and please listeners with a wide variety of music, while continuing to stay current with the ever changing music business.  Story's End is determined to stay current with today's mainstream popular music and give you only the best that we can give.

The Past ...

Friendhsip is a strong and necessary ingredient in the formation of any group.  Three friends who grew up together in the Portville/Westons Mills, New York area decided to start a band.  Scott on drums, Adam on guitar, and Lee on bass and vocals all had the same vision; the band Tantrum was born.  The band started fresh out of high school.  The garage band scene of the late 80's and early 90's worked well to hone the sound of Tantrum playing music from Poison, Alice Cooper, and Dokken, to name a few.

As the experiment was well under way, the addition of another guitarist with vocal abilities became a priority to the group.  The band went through a few different members and eventually hired Rockin' Rob on lead guitar and vocals.  Tantrum continued to improve, becoming tighter as the months rolled by.  The band was playing more legitimate jobs, not just parties and benefits, and, in the process, proceeded to build up quite a group of followers who were dedicated to having a good time.  In the fall of 1991, the group known as Tantrum disbanded.

In 1997 the group re-formed, starting the next phase of this great experiment.  Calling themselves Sinful Nature, the group tried to pick up where Tantrum had left off.  This proved to be very difficult as the music scene had matured for six years and had changed quite a bit.  The band needed to change and grow with the times.  The decision was made to include more of the "Top 40" music being played on the radio.  Although Sinful Nature incorporated modern rock into their repertoire, the move did not change the band's roots and they maintained the harder, mainstream rock sound.  Along with this decision came the arrival of a new female singer, Heather.  This decision, in the long run, paid off.  The addition opened up a variety of music that the band could play since a large variety of the current popular music was performed by female artists.  Sinful Nature's following grew by leaps and bounds.

A little over a year after the band hired Heather, Sinful Nature saw the departure of this very lovely and talented young lady due to a conflict with her full time job.  The band was very sorry to see her go.  Sinful Nature was stuck, they needed to find a new female vocalist in order to continue playing.  The band was blessed with Nancy, Scott's beautiful and equally talented wife, who stepped up to the microphone and allowed the band to fulfill its obligations and finish playing out its remaining jobs.  The decision was made to take some time off.  A short time into this break, Lee decided to pursue other avenues in the music business.

The Present ...

After about a two year hiatus, the remaining members of the now defunct Sinful Nature, solicited the services of Steve, formerly of the local band Rockmaninov, to play bass.  With years of on-stage showmanship and performance experience on his side, Steve was welcomed into the newly formed band with open arms.  His vocal abilities are exceptional and his solid bass playing an absolute asset to the band.

The band was now complete.  A little spit and polish was all that was needed to find a working formula for a sound and style that they could call their own.  Things were really starting to roll along.  What the band needed now, however, was a name.  After many months of putting their heads together...after many, many more names and suggestions...and a lot of beer...and a lot more beer...the band formerly known as Tantrum...the band formerly known as Sinful Nature...the band who thought they would never pick a name for the next phase in this grand experiment...finally agreed on a name for the band.  In the fall of 2002 a new band was born.  The winner was...Story's End.  Kinda has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

The Future ...

Story's End is currently working on original material.  Good things take time so don't expect a 14 song CD out next week; however, you can be sure that the band is also keeping up with the times.  The members of Story's End are learning the most popular mainstream "alternative" and "modern" rock music.  So, find out where Story's End is playing this weekend and be prepared to have a great time.

From Adam, Rockin' Rob, Scott, and Steve.......Thanks!
