"Nick you-" she threw her arms around him hugging him happily and he hugged her back she didn't let go as she said "You've gotton so tall, I can't believe it's actually you, it's you." She pulled away and hugged him again and she laughed realizing she was almost off the ground and she pulled away "You...look....I can't believe this, well." she hit him "Say something."
"Y-your body......I mean." She laughed and she pulled him inside "I mean you look....you look so..great."
"Thank you, you look great yourself, I was on my way to your house, W-what are you doing here?"
"Um I came to um just get out the house."
"Okay I guess." she laughed once again "We have so much to catch up on, I have to show you some things."
She grabbed his arm and pulled him through the house and into her room he sat on her bed, she got up looking for something and he sat on the bed as he said "Nothing has changed, your room is still the same."
She came and sat next to him a magazine in her hand and she opened it to a huge poster of him and he laughed so did she "That's you." she pinched his cheek "You look so cute."
He grabbed the book and tossed it to the floor and she laughed as he said "I was at your game."
"Really, I told you-" she said pointing at him.
"WNBA" he said pushing her pointing finger down.
She hit him in the arm as she stood up saying "So what, same thing. Plus I can play just as good or even better than any guy in the NBA and still you."
"I don't care how huge you are in the girls NBA but you can't." he stood up looking down at her "You can't beat me."
"You...... just because you are a Backstreet Boy and all these girls may faint at the fair breath of your name, you can't beat me, never have and never will."
"What?!" stepping up to her.
"You heard me, move away you are so much taller than me it's scary." she pushed pass him as she walked over to her dresser.
Him following "Let's go play now."
"I'd love too but, but we have to go get dinner I'm hungry and your mother is cooking her great cookies so let's go."
She put her necklace which had a pendent with a basketball hoop and ball on it, she grabbed her many rings and and him watching her blurted out "Are you married?"
Her shocked by the question quickly turned putting on her bracelet "No, I haven't even had a boyfriend. In college everyone thought I was a lesbian, come on."
He walked out the room and she followed closing her door as they made there way through the house they knew to well he broke the silence by saying "How can you be a lesbian and you have a daughter?"
She stopped and stood directly in front of him looking up at him "What!!"
"The little girl, she looks just like you."
"That's cause she is my sister." She hit him as she opened the back door "You make me sick, I hate you."
"I didn't know." She pushed him door and then followed. They were walking in silence her hoping he wouldn't ask but she knew he was and he did "You sister..you Mom she's you know kind of ..you know."
"Old, you can say it to have a kid...well she had her when I was 15. My father if you want to say...he came to sign the divorce papers for my Mom to you know make it finale and one thing lead to another she say and she got pregnant with her."
"Where is your Dad now?"
She shrugged her shoulders "I don't know he ......after she had ...when he found out he signed the papers and then disappeared like before and she hasn't seen or heard from him since."
He was quiet knowing how she was about her father when she was younger but he asked curious to know "Are you okay with all this?"
"Yeah, I don't have much of a choice ...it's not like I ever expected more out of him anyway." He decided to leave it at that and she was glad he did.
They had fun at dinner and like when they were younger afterwards their parents would begin talking about business, there kids, neighbors and anything else they did not interest them. He was paying attention when she elbowed him and him not looking at her "What?!"
"You want to go play now."
he looked at her "Yeah"
They both stood up from the table and so did her sister following them outside onto the court in the back of his house and Lisa grabbed the ball as she said "Nick this is my little sister understand, little sister Kathy."
Her little sister knowing exactly who he was and what he did said happily "Hi"
"Hey now Lisa my ball first."
She tossed it to him "How? Why?"
"Home court advantage babe."
"Ah okay, first to 21."
"Check"
He tossed the ball to her and she tossed it back to him and he couldn't believe she beat him. She'd gotton better a whole lot better and she won 21 to 10, she laughed at him knowing he was mad as he tossed the ball forcefully at her "I hate you."
"So what.....loser, you lose each time we play, cause you are a loser."
He all of a sudden picked her up tossing her on her shoulder, her screaming and laughing and her sister yelled out "Put her in the trash can!"
"Kathy, you-you traitor, Nick I swear you better put me down." she screamed for her mother laughing as he walked over to the trash can "Okay stop playing now."
"No, you called me a loser."
"No, no put me down I have to show you something." he put her down "I still have that scar." it wasn't much anymore but a dark line on her cheek "Remember that you sore loser."
"Shut up."
She laughed when her mother called out "Lisa, Kathy come on."
"Well we'll see you tomorrow." they hugged each other again "It's good to see you again, goodbye."
"Bye."
She grabbed her sister's hand as she walked over to her mother and they all disappeared inside and he shot the ball once more and walked inside.
His mother was washing dishes when he came in "She's really grown up."
"Yeah." he said still thinking about her.
"I hope we are on the same level I mean I hope you are not just talking about that girl body, I mean she is really pretty but-"
"I'm a guy I can't help but notice the physical changes but she's still the same she's still Lisa."
"Why don't you ask her out?" his mother asked hopeful even though she knew he was with Donna.
"I can't I am with Donna remember."
"Oh yeah I forget about her." She wasn't to fond of Donna but she had to stay supportive.
"Plus Lisa she wouldn't..she wouldn't go out with me anyway." he said as he put the dishes away.
"You don't know that you never know until you ask or you try."
"Yeah well I am gonna turn in, I'll see you tomorrow."
With that he went to his room and looked over out the window into her room and he was still surprised by how much she had grown up, he climbed out his window and into her's still open and she didn't turn from the mirror as she said "Don't you think we are a little old for that?"
He ignored her and sat on her bed as he said "I can't believe you still live here."
She came and sat next to him "I don't live here, I have my own place in Tampa."
"Really, you're kidding." he said quite surprised she had said that.
She rolled her eyes "No for play, play....duh..I have a place there."
"So do I."
"Really."
He nodded 'yes' and they both sat there still feeling weird when all of a sudden said she asked "I have to know, Did you really think about me?"
He looked over at her as he said honestly "All the time, you remember the day I left, the look on our mothers face when we kissed."
"Yeah that was my first kiss and I will never forget it."
"I won't either."
They were both back quiet. She saw she would have to start the conversation back up again so she asked "I read that you don't have a girlfriend is that true?"
He couldn't believe she asked him that after just seeing him for the first time in years just hours ago but he answered "Yeah her name is Donna,...I mean yeah I have a girlfriend s-she's a model you probably know of her."
"Yeah. Typical. I should have known"
"No she's really nice, I-I can't wait until you meet her." he said now really feeling weird.
She turned to face him sitting on her leg "My mother keeps telling me I'm young, rich and pretty but I need a man....she's always bugging me about it."
"I have a friend, he's perfect for you plus he already has a small thing for you."
She couldn't help but laugh "I bet he doesn't want me...plus that's okay I can find my own man." She pushed him playfully "I don't need your help."
"You're right."
"It's late you better go before my mother comes up here and kills us both."
He stood and so did she "Okay, maybe we can hang out tomorrow."
"Yeah we will, bye."
He waved a little as he climbed back out the window as he had came, and she closed the window and closed the curtains and turned to sit on her bed awhile just thinking.
