Should Have Never

"Lilah this is my friend AJ and AJ this is my niece Lilah" Howie said very proudly.

"Nice to meet you" Lilah said extending her hand as he did to her.

�Pleasures all mine� he said looking into her eyes and even Howie could not deny the silent connection between the two as he grabbed his niece arm.

�Well, Well, Well let�s go get your bags.� He said pulling her along and AJ happily followed.

That night Lilah was in her baggy but cozy pajamas while trying to watch TV but her mind kept drifting off to AJ. She thought from the first time she saw him that he was one of the cutest guys she had ever seen. She had to know more about him she thought as she went up towards Howie�s room and she sat on the bed beside him as she asked trying to sound not so interested.

�How old is that guy?� she asked trying to find something in the room to focus on instead of meeting his eyes.

�What guy?� he asked knowing exactly who she was talking about.

�What�s his name�..AJ� she said trying to sound as innocent as possible.

�Why?�

�I just want to know, I am curious � you know�

�He is 21�I think�

�Does he have a girlfriend?� she asking knowing she should have not asked.

He quickly turned to her �Lilah�

�I�m just curious�

He knew the answer to the question as he said �I don�t know� she laughed knowing even if he did know he was not going to tell he so she decided to change the subject all together as she said �Well Did you miss me?�

He laughed a little glad that she had changed the subject "Yeah, you�re so grown up now.�

�Yeah but I am not to grown up for a pillow fight�

�Not tonight Lilah�

She hit him with the nearby pillow and quickly stood up on the bed as she said �Too late� she laughed as he picked up a pillow and threw it at her.

The next morning Howie�s family sat for breakfast. They were seated when their was a knock at the door and he went and answered very surprised to see AJ standing before him and he didn�t hide it in his voice �What are you doing here?�

�For years you�ve begged me to come over one morning and have breakfast with your family and now I�ve decided to take you up on that offer.�

�AJ?� they heard a female call from behind Howie and Lilah then came to the door �It�s so early, What are you doing here?�

�I came over for breakfast�

�Really� her face lit up as she grabbed his arm �Well come in�

She pulled him into the house, right past Howie like he wasn�t even there and he just closed the door as he hear his niece burst out laughing over something that AJ had said. During breakfast she made sure she sat next to AJ, she could not stop glancing over at him. She had never seen a guy so handsome, so attractive but when she saw her uncle staring at her she decided to give it a break.

After breakfast Howie and AJ sat downstairs waiting for Lilah to come downstairs. After a while she did in a long khaki skirt and a long cream white sweater. She had her hair pulled back but some still hung in her face.

�I can�t find my shoe� she said as she came the stairs and started looking around.

�Wear other shoes� Howie said now ready to leave.

She looked under the couch as she said �No I want my shoes, I�m not going if I can�t find my shoes.� Suddenly she popped her head up �Wait��.I know where it is.�

She ran upstairs and she soon came back and sat between them as she put her shoe on and finally she was dressed and they left.

In the car��.

�This place is strange��..I mean the sun is out and it�s so beautiful out but it�s so cold.�

AJ laughed listening to her as he said looking in the backseat at her �You act like a little kid, How old are you?�

�I am 19 and how old are you?� she asked not able to tear herself away from his eyes.

�Older than you.�

He said as he turned back to look ahead and she started looking out the window as she said thinking out aloud �Where are we going?�

�Where do you want to go?� Howie asked just driving realizing that he didn�t know where they were going and he was driving.

�Anywhere that�s fun�..shopping that�s fun� she thinking about it �Sometimes� and then she was quiet a quick second before saying �Let�s go shopping...to a mall.�

And that�s what they did they went to a mall and her and AJ flirted the whole time but Howie really didn�t notice. Around lunchtime they went to a pizza place which also sold other stuff. AJ and Howie ordered a sub-sandwich and chips and soda but her order shocked them bother as she said �I want a medium pizza with the works, meaning all the toppings and extra cheese and� she looked over the menu as she continued �some mint chocolate chip ice cream and a large Coke.� The waiter walked off and she then turned back to him as she said smiling �He was cute don�t you two think?�

�You can�t eat all that food� AJ said ignoring her statement.

�Yes I can, it�s really not that much, I�m just hungry.�

His eyes it was something about his eyes that she looked and she was daydreaming not hearing Howie call her name several times and she saw that she was staring at AJ as he was at her finally she snapped out of it and answered him. And when he didn�t answer her back she knew he was mad but she didn�t care too much her mind was on other things.
