Later on that evening she was waiting for him. Finally he came and she was shocked when he opened the door for her and she climbed inside. He closed the door and climbed in on the other side, when he got in she said, �This car really makes me feel fat.�

�You�re not fat, just think of it as healthy.�

She laughed a little. That�s the first time he had seen her smile and thought that that was a start. They came in, she went to her room showered and changed into footies, black stretch pants and a gray shirt, her hair was still damp and she had it hanging down. She sat on the couch (she had a TV in her room but from the first day she saw this living room she was in love with it) with her favorite blanket and big bag of Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies in which she loved and was surprised when he came and sat next to her even thought there was quite a bit of space between them.

�Are you watching this?� she asked as she picked up the remote.

�You can turn it� he said not watching the TV at all anyway and she turned the TV to cartoons 'Tom & Jerry' as she asked �Do you like this?�

�Yeah it�s okay� he said flatly not really caring too much for the cartoon.

�Well I love this cartoon� she placed her bag of cookies between them as she said, �Do you want one?� he grabbed a hand full and she smiled once again as she said, �I said one. Do you know how expensive these things are? You shouldn�t be eating sweets anyway.�

�Why not?� he said looking over at her and she was still smiling and turned quickly to stare back at the TV screen.

�Cause you shouldn�t, it�s not healthy, you have to look good for a living remember.�

�And what about you?�

�I�m pregnant and I can do what I want.� He laughed and she quickly grabbed his hand and placed it on her stomach as she said excitedly �You feel that, the baby�it�it moved.�

�No�

She placed his hand over his and onto another place, he noticed this gesture but she didn�t cause she was so excited about her baby moving for the first time and he quickly pulled his hand away not looking at her as he said �I felt it, it felt so weird�

She laughed as she said �It is suppose to feel weird our baby just moved for the first time�

�It�s �we�I�m gonna turn in.� he said growing nervous.

�It�s only 8:00pm please stay, watch the movie with me.� she said really wanting him to stay.

�I can�t�I�ll see you in the morning?� he said as he quickly got up and disappeared out the room. He went up to his bedroom where he closed the door then he went into his bathroom where he closed the door and he then splashed cold water over his face then he grabbed a towel and looked up into the mirror as he said �I can�t let myself fall for this girl�

The next morning he came down yet again she�d cooked breakfast, and they both sat as usual. She handed him a newspaper as she always did she said as she poured them orange juice �I�m a good wife so far off huh, no one more thing.� she kissed his cheek and then said �Good Morning honey�

�You�re quite cheerful this morning�more than usual.�

�Because� she handed him a glass of water �I�m happy we came to an understanding, tonight will you go to a movie with me?�

�You�re my wife� he said sarcastically �How can I say 'no'?�

�Well since you want to be that way hand over all your credit cards.� He reached for his pocket and then get up to look in the fridge �I�m joking Howard, joking, come on hon, we�re late.� she grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the door.

When they finally got through traffic and reached her place of work up opened the door for her and she stepped out and he asked, �Do you want me to walk you in?�

She laughed very flattered with his offer but he loved her laugh it was a cute different laugh, as she said �No I�m okay be here at 6pm and don�t be late.� He nodded and walked over to his car door and he heard her say �Hey� he looked over at her before climbing in and she said, �Do me a favor? Put your wedding band on, I wear mines, it�s in the dash board.�

She went inside and he climbed into his car and drove off. He laughed a little to himself thinking about it what she had said. He had not worn the wedding band since their so-called marriage. It must have meant something to her in terms of him wearing because she said something about it so he took it out the dashboard and slipped on.

Nadia walked in Brenda was shocked it seemed day after day her smile go bigger and bigger as Brenda said, �What�s wrong?�

�Nothing� she said as she sat at her desk checking her messages and then she looked up at Brenda �I never have messages anymore, he ruining my life�

�You�re smiling, I mean you smile almost everyday now.� Brenda said looking over at her.

�My dear friend, I have decided to make the best of my unfortunate situation, make it fun.�

�I am so proud of you and him Nadia� Brenda said throwing a peppermint at her friend who caught it laughing �Me too�
