Let Me Know

They all embraced him in hugs saying they were happy for him when he pulled away and his mother asked "Can we see her?"

"Yeah, but she's weak and she's not talking much."

They all followed him into the hospital room where she was holding the baby happy to see them "He was right the whole time."

"Now we can work on a boy."

"No, no more kids."

"Not anytime soon."

She told them to come over and they all did to see the new baby when they came over she said proudly "Her name is Alexandria McLean we haven't came up with a middle name yet."

Three days later she is able to go home with her baby but she was surprised when they pulled into his mother's driveway and er really wanting to go home "What's going on, we were-"

"My mother wants to see her again, we won't be long I promise then we can take our baby home."

"Okay"

He got out and went over to the other side to help her out and she got the baby out and he grabbed her bag and her hand and he asked "Are you okay?"

"Stop asking me that I am fine."

She laughed as he pulled her towards the door and he opened the door to everyone yelling surprise and all the cheers she was truly surprised he whispered in her ear 'Surprise' and she turned to him "You know about this."

"I planned it."

His mother came over "I'll take the baby, honey you have fun." she handed her the baby and she walked off as he lead her over to a chair where she was pampered with gifts.

Later on that night he carried all the gifts she'd gotton earlier up to their room and she went to go get comfortable. After taking a shower she got dressed in an oversized shirt and socks and she came down into the living room where he was on the phone with someone as he pulled her over into his lap and after a while hung up the phone and he said to her "Thank You."

"Thank you for what?"

"Thank you for giving me a beautiful daughter."

"You're welcome, now you haven't kissed me I mean a real kiss in about 3 days."

He laughed "We'll have to fix that won't we."

"Yes we will"

She laughed and they kissed very passionately and then he pulled away and she was not ready for this kiss to end as she said "What's wrong?"

"It's just I feel I am about to do the right thing."

"What?"

When he reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box she gasped but he quickly said "It's not what you think, it's...It's not an engagement it more like a commitment like you wanted."

She stood up and so did he as she said "What do you mean?"

"I mean I am telling you, we are all each other have, well I have my mother and grandparents and you all you have is me and I wanted to tell you that, I will be here for you always no matter what I promise for you and Alex always I just wanted to let you know how much you mean to me."

"But like I always tell you we are not promised because you-"

"Don't say because we are not married because..... we don't have to be married to know we love each other, we don't have to be married to know we will be together forever, being married is not going to ensure that but us just staying together will.... so what do you say?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean say that you will be here for me for always."

She was quiet a long time before she answered cause she knew by saying she would, she was making a big commitment to him in his eyes in which she didn't want to break, but she knew that he was all that she had since her mother basically.....she decided not to even think about it as she ran into his arms hugging him "I'll be here for you always I promise."

"Thank you and this is one promise I hope you truly never break."

"I won't"

And she truly didn't plan to as he slid the ring down her finger. It wasn't marriage like she wanted but this was a step closer to it which was good enough for her.
