�I want her to wake so-�
�So what!� they both heard come from the stairs and they both turned to Debra coming down the stairs in a cozy blue robe and Nancy now 5 raced down the stairs past her right into Howie�s arms. She wrapped her small arms and legs around him.
�I can hold you like that Debra if you want me to.� AJ said looking over at her as she came down the remainder of the stairs and she said, �I have your friend for that.� she went on into the kitchen and then Nancy got up and followed her mother into the kitchen.
�I think I am in love with Claudia� AJ said laying back on the couch as Howie laughed and said �In love? Are you sure? I mean I hope it�s not because of that girls looks�
�You know me better than that� AJ said as he sat back up and said �It�s not that not just her looks, it�s the way she makes me feel� Can you believe that I get nervous sometimes when I am around her?� AJ said not believing himself that he had just said that out loud.
�What about her inside?� Howie asked still convinced that it was a looks thing.
�She�s funny and nice and sweet and caring and understanding plus she knows me, the real me and I know she loves me too�
�Do you hear yourself?� Howie said laughing �You love then you are in love�you can�t even make up your mind.�
�Well� AJ said thinking about what he had said �It�s one of them, I know my feelings aren�t friendly like anymore but I�m not going to act on my impulses cause I am not ready for a relationship but� he said pointing his finger as to make a huge point �Maybe in a few months or years maybe.�
�Years?� Howie said still laughing at him about the whole thing.
�Are you ready to leave?� he said confused about the whole conversation. They both stood up as Debra walked into the room holding a cup of coffee and Nancy right behind her as she said, �You two are leaving?�
�No, you can�t leave with out me�can I go please...please� Nancy begged and begged.
�Honey�he may want to hang out with his friends today� Debra told Nancy.
�I�m his friend too, Can I go AJ please I won�t cause trouble, I�ll be good I promise� Nancy said really not wanting to stay home.
�I won�t hurt if she go she can go� Howie said not wanting her so sad.
�No, you guys go ahead� Debra said, �You don�t need her tagging alone plus baby� she walked over to Howie �When was the last time you went out without her?�
�It�s okay Debra really�she can go�it�s cool.�
�Well let me get her dressed�come on Nancy� she said as she started up the stairs and Nancy happily followed behind her mother.
After a few Nancy raced down the stairs this time her mother behind her trying to caught up finally she grabbed her very hyper daughter. Debra sat on the couch placing Nancy on her lap as she put her shoes on her feet and placed her earrings on her ears. Her daughter was dressed in blue jean shorts and a white Nike tee. As soon as she felt her mother was done she climbed out her lap and raced over to Howie and AJ as she said happily �How do I look?�
�Beautiful�. Just like her mother� AJ said as Debra pushed him and got up knowing he was saying it to be funny in some sort of way.
�Be good Nancy.� Debra said as she hugged her and kissed and then Nancy happily raced out the door with AJ right behind her and Howie got up and walked over to her as she said �Thank you, you really didn�t have to drag her along.�
�It�s okay, she is no problem.�
She hugged him and he hugged her back and then they kissed each other as she said, �I love you�
�I love you too� he said in return as he kissed her and walked out the door. She then walked over and made sure it was locked before running back upstairs to finish sleeping.
About an hour before she expected AJ there was a knock on the door. She was just about done with everything as she jogged to the door and pulled it open to see �Nick! What are you doing here?� she asked kind of embarrassed because she was still in her pajamas.
�I know AJ will be back soon so I�ll make it quick, I want to know if you�ll go out with me� he asked.
She was so surprised as she said �Like a date or just hanging out as friends?�
�Well see �Brian is going on a blind date tomorrow and he didn�t want to go be his-self so I told him to just make it a double date and in order for it to be that I need a date or a friend to go with and I know you like AJ and he likes you and I respect that, I just need a date for one night.�
She laughed a little as she said, �I�ll be your date�
�Really� he said not even realizing how excited he sounded.
�Yeah�
�I�ll pick you up at seven.�
�Okay�
�I�ll see you later cause you know if AJ sees me here I am dead so tomorrow at seven� he said.
�Okay tomorrow�
He nodded once more and then left waving goodbye to her and she did the same as she closed the door. She was smiling as she thought about going on a date with him. She then looked down at herself to see she was still in her pajamas and she ran off to go get a shower and change.
He had just got home about a hour before and now he sat on the bed watching Debra pace the room nervously. The little dog follow behind her chasing her robe which was now dragging the floor a little because she had it hanging loosely off her shoulders. After a short while seeing her walk back and fourth was starting to get to him and he said �Would you sit? It�s no big deal.�
�Yes it is, I�m trying to work on my career right now not another baby�
�Well could you sit please� he said now really get irritated with her.
�No I can�t, I�m nervous cause I know I�m pregnant, I just know it� she then turned to him as she said, �Has it been 3 minutes yet?�
He released a huge sigh as he looked at his watch and said, �Not yet you have one minute left�
She pulled her robe up on her shoulder as she continued to pace the room and she said, �I never knew 3 minutes could be so long. Why aren�t you nervous like guys usually are?� she said getting irritated with him.
He laughed as he said, �Why should I be?�
�I don�t know.� she said as she sat next to him pulling her hair back and out her face as she looked over at him and said �It�s just when I told Nancy�s...you know that I was pregnant�I haven�t heard from him since and I know you�re not him but it�s still scary you know.�
She laid her head on his shoulder as he said, �We have this beautiful house and a beautiful Nancy and a dog and a cat and some fish� she laughed a little as he finished �Why not have a baby?�
She quickly sat up shocked by what he had said as she said looking over into his eyes �I mean �I �you want a baby�I mean tell me the truth�You want to have a baby?�
� I don�t want to have it myself.� she hit him as he said �But yeah you know I love Nancy just as much as I love you but ��
�I know�I know what you mean.� they were both quiet a while and then she said �I know a minute has passed by now.�
She got up and went into the bathroom. She came out holding the test in her hand and he quickly stood up as he said �Well�
�Well� she walked over pulling the robe up on her shoulders again as she said �I took 5 and all 5 came back �� the phone rung and she grabbed for it but he blocked her way as he said �No�forget the phone Debra, you have to tell me now�I�m I going to be a father or not.�
�You are not just going to be a great father but a really great Dad too�
She started laughed as she hugged him and he hugged her too. She was so glad yet surprised that he was so happy. He was happier than she was and seeing him so happy couldn�t help but make her happy as he pulled away looking down at her and he said �Thank you so much�
�You�re very welcome� she said as she quickly kissed him and then she walked over and sat on the bed by the phone. She looked at the caller ID to see that it was one of her friends that had called �I guess I will call my mother�you think so or should you call yours� he laughed and so did she.
