Shooter of the Year
2003
Rules
and scoring
ACTION
PISTOL
- Shooter
must register for Shooter of the Year and claim the division they wish to
compete in. Your scores will not
be calculated unless you are registered.
Please do not register if you plan on missing 6 matches or
more.
- The
divisions (open, limited, limited 10, production, and revolver) were
established to keep the playing field even. With that in mind, you will not be scored when shooting a
firearm from a higher division.
Example: A L-10 shooter
decides to shoot a high capacity limited gun during a match. That individual will be scored as a
zero for end-of-year calculations.
Note: This L-10 shooter
does have the opportunity to shoot a firearm from a lower division
(production or revolver) and still have his/her score count for
end-of-year results.
- Scores
are calculated using the match percentage from every match. Each shooter will have the 5 lowest
scores deleted at the end of the year.
Note: Missing a match will
count as a zero. Exception: The factory gun match and both night
matches will not be used to calculate end-of-year results.
- There
is always the chance of shooters moving up in their class. The Shooter of the Year results will be
sorted using the July 15th USPSA classification update.
Manual
rifle and 3-gun
- Shooter
must register for Shooter of the Year and claim the division they wish to
compete in. Your scores will not
be calculated unless you are registered.
- See
rule #2 above. Note: The divisions are different, but the
rule is the same.
- Scores
are calculated using match points from each match. Awards will not
be given by individual classification.
Only the highest scores from 12 matches will count towards End of
Year Awards in 3-Gun. Only the highest scores from 10 matches will count
towards End of Year Awards in Manual/Semiautomatic Rifle. Note:
Missing a match will count as a zero.
- Shooter
of the Year will be given out to Open Division 3-Gun Champion, Limited
Division 3-Gun Champion, Manual Rifle Champion, and Semiautomatic Rifle
Champion.
