People and their hobbies can be so diverse; it feels so good to me to put on the jeans and sneakers and go for a walk to get rid of the cobwebs that collect in the brain.
Occasionally, while off to myself, I am inspired and suddenly a poem comes to the surface. Another hobby!
Reading is a must for me and biographies are my favorite.
Organizing reunions of my elementary school has been high on the list, also. Although, I can't take credit entirely: these reunions have been the result of collaborations with many wonderful, helpful people. What rewards you receive when you can locate schoolmates of many years ago and bring them together again. The laughter, hugs, and tears wipe away the years of the Depression, WWII and yes, even bring about apologies that otherwise may not have surfaced.

These wonderful kids helped shape my young life and it makes me wonder, now, if I did my best with them. In later years, these kids pictured above became: a pharmacist, cattleman, numerous business people, several in education, and the greatest parents and grandparents.

Yes, we had a Rhythm Band in school, with the oatmeal box hats and red capes, complete with our instruments: bells, blocks, drum and cymbals (which I think were created from lids), and a triangle.
It was hilarious to try to re-create this band as adults. And guess what? No one turned down the opportunity to be a kid again. What a comedy show it was! Thanks, kids!

Have you ever wondered what happened to that cute little girl or ornery little boy who sat beside you in first grade? Send me a message, I'll try to find them!
One of my most fun times was when I joined a puppet troup and visited all elementary schools in our district. Our skits concerned children with disabilities, and our purpose was to inform children that those with disabilities can do anything we can do, but in a different way. There would always be a question and answer session afterward, and oh, the questions those children would ask!
