| Scene 1 (At the Newbie's House) "Bob, I really wish you would stop harassing that poor Mei Lin, she really sounded upset this time," said Mrs. Betty Newbie as she hung up the phone after speaking with an agitated sounded Mei Lin Chan. "I didn't do anything (belch) to that Mei- what's her name; I just suggested she wear a tighter shirt as it would accentuate her figure," laughed Bob Newbie lazily as he reclined in his favorite orange and green easy chair. Poor Betty Newbie, the embarrassments she has to put up with, having stinky, crude Bob as a husband. Nevertheless, she stalwartly carried on her cumbersome duties as a housewife, and mentor to little Cassandra Goth, but we'll get to that later. Meanwhile, Betty gave Pete the pizza guy some money for the pizza Bob had ordered, cleaned some unwashed dishes, and walked into the bedroom she and Bob had shared for the last 15 years. She dropped a pile of unfolded clothes (clothes she would have to fold later) onto the bed, and stared at herself in the mirrorr. At 135 lbs. and 44 years of her life gone by, she was a little....heavy. "And the spandex pants I'm wearing aren't helping the situation!" Betty thought to herself. "Well, if Richard SIMmons can lose weight, then so can I!" Scene 2 (At the Goth's House) "Hi Mom, I'm home from school!" Cassandra Goth yelled into the seemingly empty household. No answer. Cassandra sighed. Mom was getting worse every day. At what, you might ask? Well, Bella was a very vain person, and thought herself to be very beautiful. But on the morning of her 34th birthday, when she found a gray hair in her jet black mane, she didn't act very beautiful. Since then, Bella tried to convince herself in every possible way that she was not getting older (as we all do) to the drastic extent that she denied having a child. Then why doesn't Mortimer set her to rights? Mortimer couldn't do that because he never saw Bella in her waking hours. He was never around except to sleep, and wake up for work. Ever since he got a promotion and a taste of better things to come, Mortimer had been at the office 24/7. (Scene switches back to Cassandra). "I mean Bella, I'm home." "Oh hello Cassandra," said Bella gliding in from the bedroom. "I just bought some makeup, d'ya wanna give each others makeovers?" "Bella....I'm 8 years old, I don't wear makeup!" "Oh that could pose a problem," Bella mused. "Well, I'll give myself one! See you in 3 hours!" And with those final words, she departed into the bathroom. At these times, which happened often, Cassandra went to Betty's house. To Cassandra, Betty was like the mother she used to have, and to Betty, Cassandra was like the daughter she never had.
