| What folder do I put downloads in? |
| Well, it depends on the download actually. ~Skins (files will end in .bmp, .cmx, and/or .skn) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\gamedata\skins ~Walls (files will end in .wll) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\gamedata\walls ~Floors (files will end in .flr) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\gamedata\floors ~Roofs (files will end in .bmp) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\gamedata\roofs ~Objects (files will end in .iff) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\gamedata\userobjects or ~Objects can go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\downloads ~Houses (files will end in .iff) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\userdata\houses (if you have living large you can put them in the userdata folder of your choice) ~Families (files will end in .fam) go in c:\program files\maxis\the sims\userdata\imports |
| Downloads ending in .zip require a zip program to open. Downloads ending in .exe can generally either be saved to disk and double clicked to unpack it to the proper folder or an .exe file may be opened from location. Files ending in .wll, .flr, .iff, .bmp, .skn, or .cmx may be put directly into the proper folder. |
