| To bring up the cheat box hold down ctrl shift c at the same time. A gray box will appear in the upper left corner of the screen. Type in the cheat code, and press enter. |
| Some cheats are done from the buy or build mode only. Others you can do from any mode. If the cheat doesn't seem to be working, change modes and try again! |
| The money cheat. klapaucius, was changed to rosebud for versions 1.1, Living Large, and House Party, and the set_hour cheat was taken out. |
| Gives you 1,000 Simoleans Gives you 1,000 Simoleans Used to separate cheats on the same line Repeats the previously entered cheat ## is a number from 1 to 24. Sets the game hour to the hour specified in 24-hour format. This cheat may cause you to miss your carpool or not come home if the time change spans when the car should arrive, among other things. Allows you to place puddles of water around your house. Use while in build mode. Hold down ctrl, and click to get rid of water. Exit build mode or enter the cheat again to turn water mode off Sims can not move through, or interact with objects that are placed on water, even though the game allows you to place water under objects (even Sims) with this cheat (the Sims will walk off the water). Allows you to move objects that normally you can not move or delete (such as sims, objects in use, and lot defining objects). Do NOT delete or move the follow objects: The mailbox, the trashcan, the cars, or the invisible portals at the end of the sidewalks. Doing so will render your lot useless. If you DO delete the mailbox or trashcan, you can download a fix at simsplus.com, or you can replace the lot. Deleting a Sim, and then bringing them back by clicking on their face icon will "reset" their status. This includes most motives going green, and all skills and job changes since the last save will be lost. Turns off the cheat. Allows you to mark or unmark squares as being editable in build and buy mode. Marking the squares mentioned above as editable could lead to the same results as described above. Editing portions of the lot outside of the defaults will cause the house to look strange on the neighborhood screen and the family's webpage. Turns off the cheat. Runs the code to prepare a lot for move-in -- resetting the lot and perhaps fixing any damage caused to the lot by cheat usage. This cheat wakes sleeping Sims up, teleports working Sims home (without pay), puts Sims in their default clothing, and resets all object states to their default state (that is, beds get made, food objects become unprepared and uneaten, and some objects become clean and unbroken). It does not restore the Sims' needs. # is a number from 1 to 10. Instantly takes you to the house specified. There is no save prompt when switching houses with this cheat. You can use this cheat to get inside unoccupied houses. # is a number from 0 to 3. Rotates the lot. 0 is the orientation it has on the neighborhood screen. This does not rotate the way the lot looks on the neighborhood screen. It rotates your perspective. Shows you the interests (like travel, weather, etc) of the selected Sim. When this cheat is on and by clicking on a object in Live mode, rather then getting a pie menu of actions, you will get a window's menu of animations. Selecting one will cause the selected Sim to perform that animation. Entering build or buy mode turns it off The game may appear to "freeze" sometimes when clicking on an object. If a menu does not appear within a few seconds, click on the status bar to cancel bringing up the menu. Turns the cheat off. ## is a number from 1 to 100. Sets the Free Will autonomy factor to the level specified. The default value is 50. Setting it higher to 50 may cause your Sims to do things that you may not want them doing by themselves. ## is a number from 1 to 150. Grows the grass back on your lot to the specified level. ## is a number from -150 to 150. Used in build or buy mode, it allows you to edit the color the grass on a square by square basis. If you enter a positive number, each click will increase the "greenness" level by that number. A negative number will to the opposite (make it more brown by that increment). To turn off this cheat, you must enter edit_grass 0. Unlike water_tool, going into Live mode and then back will not turn off this cheat. Shows thought bubbles above the Sim's heads indictating about what they are thinking of doing. Turns off the cheat. Shows a graph where the status bar is. Turns the cheat off. Draws dots along the Sims' path nodes. Turns the cheat off. Brings up a window that displays info about the square and/or object the mouse is currently over Turns the cheat off. Forces the game to draw all animation frames. This may cause game lagging on slower machines. Turns the cheat off. Turns on the indicators on the second floor that show if you can place a floor tile on or off (on by default). Turns off the cheat. Logs all the actions taken by the Sims to a log file that is placed in the "The Sims" directory. Turns off the cheat. ## is a number from 0 to 999. The effects of this cheat are not known, but it is thought to affect what types of actions are recorded in the log. Writes a history of the currently family to {SimsDirectory}\FamilyHistory.txt Open this file in Excel to read it easily. There is one line of stats for every day the family has been in existence. Same as above, except that it appends the information to the file rather then overwriting it. ## is a number from 0 to 1000. Sets the speed of the game. 0 is Paused, 1000 is same as the fastest button. FAM file is the name of the family you want to import. Imports and loads a specific FAM file.
