| The upcoming Zelda fangame by Yoshimaster Productions... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Long, long ago, when the world was empty and void, three goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore, came forth and blessed the void with existence. Once their duty was done, they left this place, each leaving an entity, resonating with her strength, in the form of a golden triangle. These three golden triangles came together as the Triforce. The Triforce was a source of great Wisdom, Power, and Courage, each being given by its respective triangle. In coming years, the artifact became legend among the people in the world. It was said that by holding the Triforce, one could summon the goddesses to do whatever one wishes. People began seeking the Triforce for their own selfish desires. |

| The gods feared this, and so sent the Triforce to a Sacred Realm, where it would be ideally kept for all eternity from the evil intentions of man. The entrance to the Sacred Realm was sealed at the bottom of a lake hidden somewhere in the vast forests of the world. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| To ensure the Triforce's protection, the gods sealed it with the power of seven gems, and placed the seven gems in the farthest reaches of the world. The gods sent seven Sages to protect the gems. Centuries passed. The gems remained hidden, and so did the Triforce. The scattered people of the world, attracted by the Sages' wisdom and power, flocked to them, creating seven separate tribes. Alas, while the Sages were powerful and could hinder their age, they were mortal and their power limited. They began to die off, until only one remained. He was Hylius, protector of the seventh gem and of the hidden lake bearing his name. |

| One dark night, in the forest surrounding the hidden lake, a young boy named Link heard a calling in his dreams. In a sleepless daze, he wandered out of his house, down to the lake. He found Hylius, mortally wounded, by the shore. Link was immediately frightened, for this Sage had protected him and his comrades for years, and was not hurt easily. With his dying breath, Hylius told Link of how a mysterious thief had taken the gem, wounding him in the process. He said that, although he did not know who the thief was, if it intended to take all the gems, it would have the power to open the Sacred Realm and take the Triforce. Link could not allow this. Hylius gave Link his sword, and told him to retrieve the gems before the wizard did. Link agreed, and Hylius passed away. |

| 6/25/04 As of today, most elements of the game are complete. Usable items, including the sword, bombs, arrows, fire rod, light rod, ice rod, hookshot and spade, are completely functional. Nonusable items, including the bomb bag, rupee bag, and ever-changing "Trading Link" item, are in the menu. The menu itself is just about complete, with a space for usable items, non-usable items, heart containers, gems, and the map. The daylight timer is functional, allowing different shades of light for different times of the day. Speech engines are functional. Combat is basic, but functional. Collectable items, such as rupees and hearts, are functional. Intro screens, menu screens and the title screen are also functional. Three separate save states are functional. Since the engines are just about finished, I have begun working on the game itself. I am progressing in building the first area, Hylius Lake, as well as Link's house. The next areas to build will be the interior of the houses in that area, including the shop, and after that, the first dungeon. |
