Homer was raised on a farm with a single father and had a deceased mother. He met his wife Marge at high school. He even tricked Marge into thinking he needed her to be his French tutor but he really wanted to go out with her. He and Marge then started dating and later got married.
Homer then was presumed deceased after he disappeared, but when he found out that he was presumed deceased, he cleared it all up. He then visited his mother's grave, and when he went into his grave (which was made because he was presumed deceased), a woman told him to get out of her son's grave. He later was in for a shock, that woman was his not so dead mother. His mother was a wanted criminal and lived under many aliases. She sent him many care packages, but he never received them. When Mona was discovered, with the help of Chief Wiggum she got a ride with a hippy and they tearfully said goodbye.
Homer is obviously a drunk. He spends most of his time at "Moe's Tavern," drinking with his friends Lenny, Carl, Barney, and Charlie. He also works for Mr. Burns at the Springfield Nucular Power Plant but isn't that good of a safety inspector.
