Season 9

9.01: "Beer Factor"

Homer decides to enter the annual Springfield beer drinking contest, and he notices just how much this has disappointed Marge. Homer must make a choice of staying in the contest and keeping his reputation, or backing out of it and hopefully impressing Marge. However, it proves difficult. Meanwhile, Jill is beginning to get fed up with Lenny hanging around her all the time.

9.02: "Bar Wars: Episode V"

In the fifth 'Bar Wars' episode, Moe enlists the help of some teenagers, a couple of families, and some elderly people to try and improve his bar for all ages. However, he finds it difficult to suit everybody's requests. With the help of Lenny, Carl, Homer and Barney, Moe attempts to sort everything out in time for the grand opening of the new Moe's Tavern.

9.03: "Perfect Dorm"

Marge discovers that her entire block of dorm rooms is being demolished, and everyone has no choice but to find somewhere else to stay. Angry, she and Jill decide to go on a protest. Soon, many others follow. However, after she is arrested for supposedly taking things too far, Homer, with the help of Barney, Lenny and Carl, attempts to get her out of jail.

9.04: "A New Clown in Town"

A new student called Herschel Krustofsky arrives at Springfield College, revealing his dream of becoming a clown. Marge finds herself becoming friends with him, and she soon realises that he has become depressed because he has been denied from all clown colleges. She attempts to form a class at Springfield College for clowns to go into training, but it proves unpopular.

9.05: "Simon Dies"

Simon, Marge's ex-boyfriend, unexpectantly dies in a car crash and Marge is invited to the funeral. Homer, after discovering what has happened, decides to attend the funeral as well to help Marge out in a crisis. However, she believes that he only wants to get back together with her, and so he becomes determined to prove that all he wants to do is comfort her.

9.06: "Some Decent Proposal"

Lenny's relationship with Jill has developed even further, and with the help of Marge, he must decide whether he should propose to her once again or not. Feeling happy for him, her answer is "yes" and he proposes. However, she later realises that he may be making a huge mistake, and she must come to the terms that she may still have feelings for Lenny.

9.07: "Ten Things I Hate About Zoo"

Homer, Lenny, Carl and Barney decide to take a trip to the zoo. However, things get out of hand when Lenny and Carl manage to get themselves locked in a cage with a vicious lion, and Homer and Barney accidentally release a rare animal from it's cage. Now, Lenny and Carl must learn to tame the lion, and Homer and Barney must find a way of catching the animal.

9.08: "Do You Know the Muffin Man?"

Much trouble has been taking place at Springfield College, with the only clues being a card with the name "the Muffin Man" written on it. Marge, with the help of Jill, becomes determined to find out who is responsible for "the muffin man" after discovering that Springfield College is under threat of being closed down. Meanwhile, Lenny must pick a best man.

9.09: "Insane in the Brain Game"

Carl decides to enter an IQ test that will be shown live on Springfield public access, and he must confront his fear of cameras, with the help of Homer and Barney. However, it soon proves difficult, and Carl realises that he has no choice but to drop out. Feeling sorry for his friend, Homer steps into take his place. Meanwhile, Lenny asks Marge to help choose a ring.

9.10: "Love & Wait"

Lenny is shocked to discover that Jill has entered their names on a three year waiting list so they can get married in a beautiful Springfield garden. However, he is afraid of telling Jill that it is just too long. With the help of Homer, he must learn to confront her about it. Meanwhile, Marge is shocked after she realises that she has been left something in Simon's will.

9.11: "A Shot Too Far"

Homer, Barney, Lenny and Carl decide to go on a camping trip to the wilderness, and Homer is shocked to discover that all of his friends have brought guns with them. Feeling left out, he quickly sneaks home and takes his father's gun. However, after accidentally shooting Barney in the arm, the others must learn to work together to get Barney to a hospital in Springfield.

9.12: "The Boyfriend Saga"

Jill notices just how depressed Marge has become recently, and she promises to find her a new boyfriend within the next twenty-four hours. She enlists the help of Lenny, but they soon realise just how difficult it is to find someone these days. However, after finding the best possible guy, they are shocked to discover that he has started to hit on Jill instead.

9.13: "That Darn Fat!"

Homer is upset after he is offered a job modelling fashion wear for overweight people, and so he becomes determined to lose some weight, with the help of Barney. However, it soon proves difficult and he decides to raise the money to get liposuction instead. Lenny, Carl and Barney attempt to convince him not to, but they soon realise that they may need Marge's help.

9.14: "The Unbearable Blindness of Being"

A prank goes too far when Homer ends up temporarily blinding a student at Springfield High. Ridden with guilt, Homer becomes determined to become this student's guide around until his eyesight is better. However, Lenny, Carl and Barney are the only ones who can see that the student is taking advantage of him. Meanwhile, Marge is getting stressed by all her work.

9.15: "Men in Crack"

Homer is shocked to discover that the new employees of the burger bar are all crack addicts. Desperately trying not to get caught up in the addiction, Homer has no choice but to quit. But after realising that he needs the income, he gets his job back and attempts to get the others off crack. However, it proves difficult when they can't accept that they have a problem.

9.16: "And They Call it Barney Love"

Barney, whilst taking a trip to Springfield High, encounters a beautiful senior student named Christine and the two end up falling in love. However, he hasn't explained that he graduated from the place a while back, and he must find the right time to tell her. But it soon proves difficult, and he is afraid that he will jeapoardize their relationship. Meanwhile, Marge meets a very Simon-like guy.

9.17: "Homer the Football Coach"

Homer is shocked when the old Springfield High football coach (1.09: "Homer vs. College Football" and 4.20: "Play it Forward") visits him and explains that he wants him to be the new coach. Homer's immediate answer is "yes". However, he is having second thoughts when he realises just how much the Springfield High football team has changed over the past few years.

9.18: "The Naked Truth"

Lenny, whilst visiting Jill, accidentally sees Marge in the nude and he starts to feel embarassed around her every time he visits Springfield College. With the help of Jill, he attempts to get his friendship with Marge back to normal, but it later proves difficult. Meanwhile, Homer, Barney and Carl are beginning to get fed up with all the time Lenny is spending at the college.

9.19: "Give Me a B, Give Me an A..."

Barney is honoured when he is offered the job as the Springfield High football team mascot. However, he is not sure whether to go through with his responsiblities when he discovers that his old girlfriend, Christine, will also be there. Meanwhile, after speaking with Marge, Lenny begins to freak out about his marriage with Jill, and he is beginning to have second thoughts.

9.20: "Burger Bar Love"

Homer's new boss at the burger bar is a young, sexy, attractive girl named Becky, and he soon realises that she has been flirting with him ever since she arrived. He must make a choice of whether to move on and forget about Marge or not. However, he is shocked to discover that he is being sued for sexual harassment after he flirts back, and he is taken to court.

9.21: "Book No Further"

Marge, noticing that there are no social clubs for women at all at Springfield College, decides to form a book club. It is a smashing success. However, she is shocked to discover that nobody has read any books and all they want to do is get drunk and have a laugh. Meanwhile, Lenny makes a bet with Carl that he can survive at least one weekend at a boot camp.

9.22: "Maid in Springfield"

Marge is shocked to discover that Jill has hired a maid for the dorm room. Marge feels sorry for the maid and she decides to befriend her. However, after discovering that this particular made is extremely nasty, she attempts to fire her, but feels guilty for doing so after Jill forbid her to do so. Meanwhile, Homer's relationship with Becky has developed, even after the lawsuit. 1
