1.01: "Pilot"
Marge and Homer have announced that they are a couple, and people's reactions aren't too good. Marge, fed up, attempts to convince Homer to pretend that they have broken up, but Homer is worried when Artie Ziff moves in to make his move on Marge. With the help of Lenny, Barney and Carl, he attempts to stop things from getting out of hand, but it soon proves difficult.
1.02: "What's Meeting Homer Simpson?"
Marge invites Homer to dinner so that he can meet her family properly. They take an instant disliking to him, and Marge begins to feel angry. Fed up, she attempts to prove that Homer is, in fact, a nice guy, and he is soon forced to change his personality. Homer is soon bored of pretending to be someone else, and so he decides to take action, but the consequences just make things worse.
1.03: "Bar and Away"
Moe has just opened up his new bar, appropriately named "Moe's" and Homer, after getting drunk, makes a complete fool of himself and embarasses Marge. He wakes up the next morning and he begins to have flashbacks of the previous night. When he realises just what he has done, he attempts to make it up to Marge, but it soon proves difficult.
1.04: "Song Turn"
Lenny is discovered for his singing talent, and he is offered a chance to record with a famous producer. However, he needs around $1,000 to get things started. He attempts to raise the money, and his older brother decides to lend it to him. But when he discovers that this so-called famous producer has run off with all the money, he finds himself being forced to pay back his brother in any way he can.
1.05: "Barney Doesn't Live Here Anymore"
Barney discovers that he is being forced to move to Florida with his family. To get out of this, he must find himself an apartment, but he soon finds it more difficult than imagined. Barney soon finds the perfect apartment, but he has trouble with his neighbours when he asks them to keep the noise down, and he considers moving away with his family after-all.
1.06: "A Tennis to Society"
Marge decides to sign up for the Springfield High tennis team, and she finds herself enjoying practice more and more everyday. Homer, however, realises that this is pulling him further and further apart from his girlfriend, and so he attempts to get her to re-consider being on the tennis team. Meanwhile, Lenny and Carl have trouble dealing with the fact that Barney has moved away.
1.07: "And the Lord Said, 'Let There be Kite!'"
Homer and Barney decide to enter the annual Springfield kite-flying competition. But, when the weather turns for the worse, it is cancelled. Angry, and desperately wanting to win the cash prize, the two decide to convince the mayor to hold the kite competition somewhere else, but Homer finds himself in trouble when it is held in his house, later followed by Springfield High.
1.08: "Saturday Night Dive"
Lenny and Carl notice that there are no swimming facilities at all in Springfield, and so they decide to swim on the beach every Saturday night, but when they discover that they need a permit for it, they are later arrested. Homer and Marge must attempt to get Lenny and Carl out of jail, but they soon realise that it will be a lot tougher than they ever imagined.
1.09: "Homer vs. College Football"
After realising that he may have what it takes to join a football team, Homer attempts to find one to join. However, the Springfield High coach turns him down, and so he decides to turn to Springfield College. There, people believe that he is a college freshman, but when someone finds out that he is a senior in high school, Homer begins to panic.
1.10: "Beyond the Tour"
When Dondelinger catches Homer and Barney performing a prank, they are forced to show the new foreign exchange student around Springfield High and help in his every need. However, this exchange student is much more troublesome than expected, and Homer and Barney are beginning to get fed up with getting blamed for all his pranks that he has done.
1.11: "School Runnings"
Homer's home room teacher unexpectantly passes away, and school is cancelled for his class for a couple of days, that is, until Abe steps in to help. Homer tries all he can to keep the secret of Abe being his father getting out, but it is difficult seeing as they have the exact same last name. After Barney somehow manages to reveal all, Homer fears that his reputation has been ruined.
1.12: "Pranks for Nothing"
Homer fears that his relationship with Marge may be ruined because she is fed up with all the pranks he has been pulling, and so he attempts to change himself in order to stay with her. However, Marge begins to dislike the new Homer, and she attempts to get him back to normal, with the help of Lenny and Carl. It is tougher than they imagined.
1.13: "The Return of Barney Gumble"
Barney unexpectantly turns up at Homer's house, but refuses to explain what happened with him and his family in Florida. Determined to find out, Homer teams up with Marge, Lenny and Carl to find out the truth, but it is more difficult than they suspected. However, a surprise visit from the Gumble family makes them even more suspicious of something.
