The Simpsons Movie (2005)

News (9/10/02): In a recent interview, Harry Shearer has said that the Simpsons Movie is looking like more of a reality then ever and it seems that they are shooting for a 2005 theatrical release. Three years might seem far away, but if you think about how long all of us fans have been waiting for the movie to come out, 3 years will be a piece of cake. As soon as I find a copy of the interview online, I will post a link to it.

Theatrical Release Date: July 2005 ?

Movie Title: Will Most Likely be titled "The Simpsons Movie"

Film Status: In Production

Distributor: 20th CENTURY FOX

Genre: Comedy, Family

Cast: Dan Castellaneta (Homer, Groundskeeper Willie, Krusty the Clown, Barney Gumble, other voices), Julie Kavner (Marge, Patty, Selma), Nancy Cartwright (Bart, Nelson, Todd Flanders, Ralph Wiggum), Yeardley Smith (Lisa), Harry Shearer (Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, Mr. Burns, Smithers, various voices), Hank Azaria (Apu, Chief Wiggum, various voices), Tress MacNeille (various voices), Pamela Hayden (Milhouse, additional voices), Russi Taylor (Martin Prince, additional voices), Marcia Mitzmen Gaven (Helen Lovejoy, various voices), Karl Wiedergott (various voices), Marcia Wallace (Mrs. Krabappel) ...

Sequel Note: All of the people that do the voices of the Simpsons characters are signed in their contracts to do up to two Simpsons Movies. When FOX comes out with the first one, and it makes much money at the box office, they might consider doing a sequel.

Movie Premise:

I have gathered up information from many rumors going around online of a Simpsons Movie and this is the information I got...

From what reliable sources have told me, a Simpsons Movie is currently in production. For many years, Matt Groening and the rest of the Simpsons crew have been against making a Simpsons Movie for fear that the movie would bring the show's ratings down. The actors and actresses for The Simpsons are signed in their contracts to do at least two Simpsons movies though. So they finally decided to jump on the idea to make at least one movie. By the looks of it, The Simpsons isn't going off the air anytime soon (since they are signed until a Season 15), so the movie may come sooner then that. A FOX representative said at a press conference a few months ago that there is currently a Simpsons Movie in production. He left right after this statement though and didn't take any questions. A plot hasn't been revealed yet, but it looks like we have a possible theatre release date for the movie. Statements made by Hank Azaria and Nancy Cartwright have led me to believe that the Simpsons Movie will hit theatres sometime in July 2003. To sum this all up, there "is" a movie in production, no plot has been revealed, and no theatre date has "officially" been revealed. Not to mention the website domains, http://www.thesimpsonsmovie.com and http://www.simpsonsmovie.com have been registered, probably by FOX. Well, this is all I know. I will continue to hunt for more information and when I get more information I will update this page of the site. Keep checking back.
