"Testing The Waters"

Setting: Genera Falls
FireStorm gazed intently into his telescope that had been set up.
FireStorm: Hmm, if I’m right, and I usually am, he’ll be returning, right about... NOW
A shooting star streaks across the night sky, but this is no ordinary shooting star. It banks towards us and zooms down. FireStorm looks up and watches as Drax lands inside the Red Sky Screamer. The Sky Screamer is the size of the Jet Jammers, but it is more futuristic. It has two engines mounted on the back, on either side of the tail fin. It has two more engines on the end of two shorts wings, which are mounted on the back. It has a pilot's seat which is covered by a canopy. The canopy retracts and Drax climbs out.
Drax: The Sky Screamer is SUPERB, and the distance it can travel is GREAT
FireStorm: Not to little then?
Drax; I’ve just returned from Aquatar, that’s how far it can go. You’ve out done yourself this time old friend.
Suddenly, four beings leapt down from the trees, over the two friends, landing on the rocks. They were covered in red and black markings, and had tank treads for feet. They had two plasma cannons, one on each shoulder and nasty looking claws for hands. They each had a small laser turret and missile launcher built into their chest.
Drax: Tank Drones
Drax and FireStorm assumed defensive stances.
FireStorm: If these goons are here, then Dameacon must be close by...
Drax: If he is, then I came back at the right time
Babbling menacingly, the Tank Drones split up into two groups of two, one group went after FireStorm while the other went after Drax.
Setting: Unknown - Starship Bridge
RaptorCon watches the battle on the view screen while eating a side of beef and drinking a cup of coffee.
RaptorCon: Time to send in the others
Using his tail, he activates the communications system.
RaptorCon: Rangers haul butt to sector 8, the waterfall 20 miles south of Terra Venture, Drax and FireStorm need your help
Maya: We’re on our way
RaptorCon watches as Drax morphs into the Red Lion Force Ranger.
RaptorCon: That should even the odds...
He takes a bite of his side of beef, then belches loudly.
Setting: Genera Falls
Even using their best martial arts skills, Drax and FireStorm were unable to beat the Tank Drones. Every time a drone fell, it got right back up. They were seemingly indestructible. Just as they began to realise they were in trouble, the other Rangers arrived.
Blue Lion Force Ranger: Help has arrived
Red Lion Force Ranger: About time to
Yellow Lion Force Ranger: What put the bug up your butt
Red Lion Ranger points to the Tank Drones, who are regrouping, ready to attack again.
Red Lion Force Ranger: They did
Pink Lion Force Ranger: Then lets take them out...
Black Lion Force Ranger: And here’s me thinking that you wanted to take Drax out.
FireStorm stepped to the side and watched as the Lion Force Rangers engaged the Tank Drones.
Setting: Space - Miranoi Orbit
A large starship hovers in space, just beyond Miranoi’s one and only moon. The alien starship is a long rectangle that is rounded off at one end. There is a long window that runs around the rounded off edge. At the rear of the ship, on top were two giant engines.
Setting: DarkStar - Bridge
There are many consoles and work stations dotted about the bridge. At the front, near the view screen is the helm. Seated at the helm is a monster called Tigra. This monster is a large white tiger with dark grey horns and red eyes. In the center of the bridge is a throne. Standing next to the throne is the monster known as Dragantis. Dragantis is a 6 foot tall humanoid dragon, covered with ruby red scales. Hi has a long tail that drags on the ground behind him. Seated in the throne is the evil alien warlord Dameacon. Our view of Dameacon is obscured by dark lighting and shadows cast across the throne, thusly, we can’t see all of him. We can see that he is wearing camouflage styled trousers with black boots. A light on he arm rest of the throne beeps, and the view screen comes to life, casting an eerie glow over the throne. The other lights on the bridge dim and the shadows around the throne grow darker, all we can see now are his eyes, yellow, bloodshot and inhuman.
Dragantis: My lord, the Rangers are fighting the Tank Drones
Dameacon: I can see that
They watch as the Rangers summon their Fire Sabers, they use the flaming weapons to destroy the Tank Drones.
Tigra: My lord, the Tank Drones are ineffective against the Rangers
Dameacon: Your talent for stating the obvious is amazing. I can SEE they’ve beaten the Tank Drones
Dameacon gets up of the throne and walks towards the view screen, giving us our first look at him. He is wearing a long black cloak that whips around his feet. He is also wearing a leather type jacket and black finger-less gloves.
Dameacon: It would seem as though the Rangers are stronger than I thought
He falls silent for a few moments as he watches the Rangers celebrate their victory.
Dameacon: The situation at this point would call for a monster to be sent down. Where in the Rangers would destroy it, it would grow large then they’d slag it with their MegaZord
Dragantis: What is your plan my lord?
Dameacon: I’ll send down a monster, ALREADY grown to super-size, and that monster is
He whirls around and points at Dragantis.
Dameacon: YOU Dragantis
Dragantis: I will not fail you my lord
Dameacon: Be sure to teleport out before they destroy you, good generals are SO hard to find
Setting: Genera Falls
Red Lion Ranger: Well, that was easy enough
Black Lion Ranger: Yeah, but what are those things?
FireStorm: They’re called Tank Drones, and there the grunts of the evil alien warlord Dameacon
Red Lion Ranger: You think that Scorpius and Trakena were bad, well he’s about a thousand times worse
Dragantis: Flattery will get you nowhere Red Ranger, except maybe FLATTENED
Dragantis teleports in, already giant sized. He laughs as he tries to stomp on the Rangers and FireStorm.
Red Lion Ranger: Get back to base, we’ll take care of this
FireStorm: You don’t have to tell me twice.
FireStorm teleports out.
Setting: Unknown - Starship Bridge
FireStorm teleports in and takes up the helm next to RaptorCon, who is still eating. The communications system crackles to life and Red Lion Ranger’s voice filters through.
Red Lion Ranger: We need the Zords, NOW
RaptorCon: They’re on the way
His tail slams down on a glowing red button. He and FireStorm watch as the Lionzords rush to the battle scene and quickly form the Lion Force Megazord.
FireStorm: Why’d they ask for the Zords and not just call them?
RaptorCon: The Zords are now berthed here
FireStorm: Makes sense
Setting: Lion Force Megazord - Cockpit
The Rangers grip their controls tightly as Dragantis pounded the Megazord relentlessly. Sparks erupted from the damaged consoles, but the Rangers held their ground.
Pink Lion Force Ranger: He’s pounding us into the ground, we need to fight back
Blue Lion Force Ranger: Good idea, what weapons does the Megazord have?
Red Lion Force Ranger: Oh, it has THIS...
Setting: Genera Falls
The fists of the Megazord came together, and as they drew them apart, a magnificent glowing blade appeared between them, its hilt gripped tightly by the giant robot.
Dragantis: So you have a weapon... no matter, it won’t defend you against my...
He was cut off as the Megazord hurled blade at Dragantis; it curved through the air, taking a chunk out of the dragon monster's chest before returning to the Megazord’s hand.
Dragantis: Lucky shot Rangers
The Megazord then launched grappling hooks from it shoulders, which wrapped themselves around Dragantis, pinning his arms to his sides.
Setting: Lion Force Megazord - Cockpit
Red Lion Ranger: the chains will hold him in place, giving us time to do this.....
He thumbed a control, and the Rangers watched as the Megazord raised it’s arms, it’s hands retracted and sprayed Dragantis with missiles. The chains retracted and Dragantis fell to the floor, smoke rising of his body.
Dragantis: Is that all you’ve got, c’mon Rangers, show me...
He was cut off as he was surrounded by a field of purple mist. The mist slammed into him, sending him crashing down, the mist then floated over to the Megazord and solidified into Venomina.
Venomina: I thought you guys could use a hand
She looked the Megazord directly in the eyes and waved.
Venomina: Hi Drax, long time no see
Setting: Lion Force Megazord - Cockpit
Beneath his helmet, Red Lion Ranger smiled and waved back.
Red Lion Ranger: Hello gorgeous
Setting: Genera Falls
Venomina turned to face Dragantis and extended her hoses, aiming them at the dragon monster.
Venomina: do you feel luck, puke face
Dragantis: You haven’t heard the last of me.....
Dragantis teleports away in a burst of flame.
Setting: DarkStar - Bridge
Dameacon watches the last few seconds of the battle, then returns to his throne.
Tigra: Dragantis has retreated my lord
Dameacon: Good, now we know how far the Rangers will go, and that they have monster allies to assist them.
Tigra: What is your plan now my lord?
Dameacon: Now, we plan for the next time we face the Rangers, a battle which will ultimately prove to be their last
