next day's entry
Hello again.  Today has been another good day so far.  Andrew was a little sick this morning, but nothing to worry about.  The girls and I didn:t have that great of a sleep but we are okay.  They are sleeping right now, our team always sleeps, we should be called the SLEEPING TEAM.  I feel bad sleeping, I don:t know.  I do it anyways!  This church grows on each of us more and more everyday!  I really do love it here.  Last night we watched our video that we have been making since training it was so fun, but the best part was the end when we got to see our new friends at Sakata.

Last night we bought a whole bunch of pre made food and ate it, it was okay, but I think it made us all sick.  Well at least not feeling too well.  Today we had a prayer service at 10;00 and then we went out to lunch.  It is this little place right down the street that serves okanomiaki, it was really good.  Mine had ika (squid), ebi (shrimp) and pork in it,  It was really good.  Oh, okanomiaki is a egg pancake with different vegitables and meats in it.  Right now we are just chilling until five o:clock when we have a childrens english class.

I am learning to play the guitar!!  MOM...DAD... if you want to get me a guitar now, I won@t have to ask for it when I get home.  I really want to learn how to play,my fingers are already starting to get calaces from the strings.  It is so exciting.  It actually hurts to be typing right now.

Anyways, there is this lady Junko who is so nice.  she prepared lunch for us yestuday and she is in both of my english classes.  HEr son is Sautaro, one of the guys that we hang out with.,  She totally encouraged me last night when I was giving my testimony.  She wasn:t suposed to be there, but felt bad so she rode her bike the entire way to the church.  She said that is was her first time doing thet and she was sooooo hot.  I felt terrible, but that is just an example of what servants the Japanese people are.

Today, when we were walking home from lunch the pastor taught me a song, I will share it with you and tell you what it means.  THey sing this song at the end of every service..

Shinzeyo, Shinzeyo  (Believe, Believe)
Subete Kami, Nashitamo  (God can do everything)
Shinzeyo Shinzeyo  (Believe, Believe)
Chikara Aru, Kamioba  (God is powerful)
Amen

So that is your japanese lesson for the day,  And I also wanted to share some scripture with you.  My friend Machiko shared this verse with me yesturday!  It is Ephesians 3:7 and it says, "I became a servant of the gospel by the gift of God:s grace given to me through the working of his power."  THat verse totally encouraged me to realize that God never ceases to work in my life, he is working in my life and that in turn helps me to be a servant for him.  I am not only being a servent to the japanese people but they are being servants to me and to my heart.  This trip has helped my heart and relationship with the Lord more than I think I could ever hurt any of them.

Okay, I better to play guitar some more.  Pray that our food turns out better tonight!  Love, Marti
