Samaritans Purse

 

          Samaritans Purse is a 35 year old organization started by Franklin Graham that now provides multiple services around the world to people in need. These services include Operation Christmas Child, World Medical Mission, Children’s heart project, and HIV/AIDS Prescription For Hope

 

            Operation Christmas Child provides shoeboxes wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper and filled with toys and other goodies to children around the world. Last year it provided over 7.4 million shoebox gifts to children, including the ones affected my the Tsunami in South Asia

 

            World Medical Mission sends short term doctors, dentists, and other medical personal to hospitals in poor countries. It also provides medical equipment needed by these hospitals

 

                Children’s Heart Project is a service that brings the help of North American doctors to children around the world with heart diseases.

 

HIV/AIDS Prescription for Hope organized a Prescription for hope conference in Washington D.C. that held 900 people from 87 countries. Since that conference It has held others in Asia, Africa, and Latin America to give prevention methods and way to care for those affected

 

Other than these programs Samaritans Purse also provides relief to people affected my massive disasters including hurricane Katrina, and the tsunamis in southern Asia last year
