Challenges to Faith

There are many challenges to my faith/Faith here and now. One of the major challenges is practical atheism. There are plenty of times when I don’t live out my Christian faith. I have a tendency to shrug off beggars on the street. I often don’t go to church just so I can sleep in because I don’t want to go to church since its boring. I would be insulted if someone called me an atheist, but do my actions relate to what I say my faith is?

Another challenge in my faith is scientism. As technology improves we are learning more and more on how the world works. It seems like there are explanations or at least theories for everything, from what made the universe, to how we came to be what we are today, even about what we are made up of to the smallest sub atomic level. If there is a non-religious explanation for almost everything where is there room for Faith?

Another challenge of faith is dehumanization. A good example of this is the stereotypes we put on people everyday, even here at school. Guys who pop their collars are cocky preps, if you wear dark unconventional clothes you’re a Goth/punk. These are just some examples of how we classify people by what they look like and wear and not who they are. It’s not very public but if you actually asked random students you would find out that these stereotypes are all to common, I for sure make them almost everyday.
