One of the major ideas of this section was the
reasons to believe there is a God. One is Paley’s “Watch and the Watchmaker”
which shows how the world is to complex to have come about by itself. Another
is the Golden Ratio,
which is a number that appears commonly in nature. The Kalam Argument says that
since everything is made by something else, and since the universe is a thing
that something had to make it.
One thing I want to remember from this section is the
watch and the watchmaker argument. To me it is a very simple and easy to
understand explanation for why a God has to exist
Another very important thing I want to remember is
what we learned about Jesus as a person. We learned that he was in many ways
just like us, he faced doubt and times of trouble he was in no way
“bulletproof”.
The last thing I want to remember from this section
is the is the idea of Kalam’s Argument. Just like the watch and the watchmaker
it is a simple and effective argument for the existence of God.

One good question- Since Jesus WAS fully human, why
am I unable to act like him?
One thing I could do from this study to be more
faithful is truly in my heart believe the arguments for God’s existence that
this section explains. I say how simple and convincing they are but still at
times am doubtful. I should listen to them and strengthen my faith in periods
of doubt.
