The key idea of the section is that
moral issues in life are very complicated. We learned how hard it is to be
moral in war, especially when ordered to do something wrong. We saw how
complicated medial ethics are and that there isn’t always a clear right answer.
Lastly we learned that making the right business decisions won’t always make
you the most money but it’s the right thing to do.
The first thing I want to remember
is Vernado Simpson. His pain for doing such a bad thing was very impacting. It
made me realize that when you so something really wrong like that it can bad
effects on you along with those you hurt.
The second thing is the Aideen
Burton case. I realized I wouldn’t know what to do if that happened to my
parents or even my grandparents and that it is important to talk to your
parents about it and make sure they have a living will.
The third thing is that making the
right moral decision in the business world won’t make you the richest but you
can still be successful while doing the right thing. A great example of this is
John Goodnight.

A good question is that if someone like John
Goodnight can be successful and still treat his employees like royalty why cant
other employers? Is that extra couple million a year worth it when you’re
making more money than you can spend?
What I can do to be a more moral
person is realize that the right thing to so isn’t always the easiest and that
it wont always be clear on what the actual right thing to do is but if I take
reason and use moral principles and maybe even the OPTION method I will be able
to make better decisions.
