| know his stuff. There were 3 other people on the tour with us, Jonathan, a Radiographer from England, and two Dutch women. We stopped along the Stuart Highway a couple of time for him to point out various things, like the structure of a termite mound, and the cockroach plant! We travelled on to the Devils Marbles. We weren't expecting to be impressed, but we were. Loads of large round boulders some stacked on top of each other. We got some good pictures or as Bill called them "Kodak Moments". It was then back to the hostel to get a free BBQ as part of the tour. The flies were terrible. Jonathon then taught me how to play chess. I've always wanted to learn. Played for 3 hours. Of course he beat me each time. We caught the bus to Townsville at 10.25pm. |
| Wed 03.10 - Arrived at 9.40pm. Taken to hostel. Dodgy enough, but we did get the "Honeymoon Suite". Well it had a sign on the door to the effect, but it was not luxury! Thurs 04.10 - Up 9.ish, had shower, whilst watching out for any frogs! Vicky told us to watch out for frogs in the showers! We went on our Devils Marbles Tour at 11am. It was a 100km journey to it.
