"Puberty was very vague. I literally locked myself in a room and played guitar," he related to Cosmopolitan. Depp played as guitarist in a band called "The Kids." Now he currently plays in a band called "P." He gave Noel Gallagher, from the british band Oasis, a white guitar with the letter "P" on it, which Noel regularly plays during Oasis' gigs. Depp is also featured on a rock album from Oasis. Depp plays lead slide guitar on the track, "Fade In-Out". Depp had to fill in for Oasis's own lead guitarist because he was too drunk to perform it himself. Depp nailed the lead in the first take.
His Remarkable Career

Depp's big screen debut came in 1984 on the horror film 'A Nightmare on Elm Street.' He then landed a job on prime time TV as the lead role in '21 Jump Street.' His next big film was Cry-Baby following Edward Scissorhands. All these deverse roles really opened everyone's eyes to see Depp's great ability to act. His next acting jobs were on the movies like Arizona Dream, Benny & Joon, and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Other movies followed, but none remember to well or great in popularity. In 1999 he was in Sleepy Hollow, 2000 Chocolat, and now in 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Family Life

Johnny now has 2 children with his wife, Vanessa Paradis. Vanessa Paradis is a popular singer/songwriter in France; as well as an aspiring actress. Depp has one girl, one boy. Their names are Lily-Rose Melody Depp and Jack Depp. Both children have the same names as characters in one of Johnny's movies, "Legend." Johnny has many tattoos all which symbolize a time in his life. Johnny's body is literally a memory book of his past. Johnny even has a tattoo for both children marked on his body. The name Lily-Rose is tattooed over Johnny's heart. He is proud to show it. "Anything I've done up till 27 May 1999 was kind of an illusion, existing without living. My daughter, the birth of my daughter, gave me life," Depp said. Jack's name is tattooed on his right forearm underneath a bird flying over water in front of a sunset/sunrise. Depp also used this tattoo in his recent movie Pirates of the Carribean as Captain Jack Sparrow.

After the brake up engagement from Winona Ryder, Depp had his tattoo "Winona forever," on his arm surgically removed to only say "Wino Forever!" Depp said, "I don't pretend to be captain weird. I just do what I do." He also recalls, "One of the most incredible moments I've ever had was sitting in Vincent [Price]'s trailer...I was showing him this first-edition book I have of the complete works of Poe--with really amazing illustrations. Vincent was going nuts over the drawings, and he started talking about The Tomb of Ligeia. Then he closed the book and began to recite it to me in this beautiful voice, filling the room with huge sounds. Such passion! I looked in the book later, and it was verbatim. Word perfect. It was a great moment. I'll never forget that." Depp not only is intuned with himself, but he is a life saver. He adopted Goldeneye, a one-eyed Andalusian horse who played Gunpowder, Ichabod Crane's steed, in Sleepy Hollow. Therefore saving him from the glue factory. :)
