A True Feeling

Most guys are willing to put morals aside to "get some action". Why? Guys think it is "macho" to score. We feel the need to prove our manhood by getting physical action from a girl, even if she may not be willing.

Party games can be an example of this, with a more specific example of this being spin the bottle. In this classic game, a group of adolescents gather in a circle. Then someone sets a bottle to be used as a spinner. Someone spins the bottle, and whoever the tip of the bottle points to can be called the chosen one. Then, the chosen one and the person who spins the bottle must kiss. Guys seemingly have no problem with this. Its a great game to prove your manhood. The guy conquers the girl, and gets a little action. Does it matter if the girl wants to kiss? Probably not. Rules are rules.

Another example of guys getting to prove themselves also occurs at a party. This one may seem a little more wrong. But what could be wrong when the locker-room talk with the guys celebrates you and your victory? Well, I guess it helps to explain what that victory is.

Even though this may not be the most manly thing to say, I would much rather wait another year to get a my first kiss, which means something true, than go to a party next week and get my first kiss, which wouldnt truly mean anything.

Scenario: A guy is at a party. Theres alcohol being passed around, no parents, and loud music. The guy is talking to an attractive girl he knows. After talking to her for a little bit, the guy realizes shes had a little too much to drink. Later on during the party, she starts making some moves on this guy.

Whats going to happen?
1. The guy follows along with the girl, even though he knows why shes acting this way. He gets some.
2. The guy has enough sense to know what is going on and does the morally right thing.

Im not going to stereotype guys by saying that #1 is always going to happen. However, Im also not saying that #2 is always going to prevail. In the scenario, the guy has a big decision to make. He could become the hero of the locker room, or he could become something else. In my eyes, he could become very respectable. Someone who goes against what is seemingly the cool thing earns respect. Those who stand up for whats right deserve to stand up and be applauded!

Basically, the decision comes down to morals, what they are, and how much you are willing to compromise them to obtain meaningless pleasure.

A girl shows her affection to you in several ways. Getting drunk at a party is not one of them. If a girl wants to show you affection, she will. And if she's not ready to show affection in *that* way, your forced with two choices. You can accept her decision, respect it, and wait, or you can leave her.

But why leave her? Because she won't put out? To me, that's stupid. Love is more than sex. If that was too small, or not clear enough...

LOVE IS MORE THAN SEX!

This may sound a little un-manly, but I have my view on love, and sex. And I think my thought can best be summed up by this poem by my cousin...

"I'd rather be alone, like I am tonight,
Then settle for the kind of love that fades before the morning light."
