Stereotypes are evil. Plain and simple. Stereotypes have lead to no good. Stereotypes killed 1/3 of the European Jew population. Some common stereotypes include (some stereotypes about me): 1. Since I'm tall, I can play basket ball quite well. 2. I am a teenage slacker who wouldn't read a book unless it was for class. And if that book was from class, I wouldn't do it, because reading isn't that fun. 3. Since I am a teenage guy, I all care about from a girl is "getting some", and therefore, a true friendship with a girl is not possible. Now it is time to correct all those stereotypes: 1. I may be tall, but coordinated I am not. Maybe I don't suck at playing basketball, but I'm not great either. And perhaps I don't like basketball? Maybe I enjoy playing hockey or kickboxing? Ever thought of that one? 2. I truthfully don't mind picking up a good book. In fact, I am normally reading a book that has nothing to do with my school work. And it's not some cheesy 5th grade book. I read books by Tom Clancy, John Grishim and Steven King. 3. This is the main reason why I am writing this. Just because a guy has some female friends doesn't mean he's in it to "get him some". Are most, if not all, teenage guys horny? Yes. I'm not denying that fact. I'm also not denying the fact that I'm a teenage guy. But I personally look for more in a girl than a great body. She needs to be smart, funny and a good person. Stereotypes are a slap in the face to everyone. Not only does the stereotype hurt the group, but it also hurts whoever you may be associated with! Stereotypes come from preconceived notions and ideas that usually come from one isolated experience. Don't every make any kind of conclusion about any type of group. Stereotypes are wrong and have no place in our society.
