Title: U LOVE THEM...NOT!
Learning to like the girls you love to hate
TARGET: Shelli Lynn
BOY BAND INVOLVEMENT: Ex-girlfriend but still friend-friend of Ashley Parker Angel of O-Town.
Why Some Dis-Like Her: Making the Band viewers saw the edited, abridged version of her on-camera arguments with Ashley, making Shelli look less than warm.
Why We Like Her: Shelli's sincere sweetness immediately put us at ease. She's down to earth-definitely no user- and is currently pursuing her own career goals as a makeup artist in Los Angeles.
Why You Should Love Her: Shelli provides inspiration for those of us who have been a little discouraged from achieving our goals at one time or another. While she admits she put her own dreams on the back burner during her relationship with Ashley, she has motivated herself to go after what she wants and couldn't be happier! Also, despite their last breakup, which was also caught on camera thanks to the wonders of reality television, Shelli continues
to support Ashley and his popstar career.
Overheard:"When I lived in Redding, I felt like I didn't have a life anymore without Ashley," confides Shelli. "When he left, it devastated my entire life. I wasn't the same person anymore. Picking up and leaving took a lot. I spent six months before I left saving and saving for everything I knew I would need. I pretty much went down there empty-handed." Shelli's hand-to-mouth- existence was a real trial for her. "I had a place to stay for one month and it
was a struggle, but at the same time there were so many opportunities that you just don't know are out there because you choose not to see them. Everything that has happened for me has been because of the drive I had inside myself. Without that, I would still be in Redding and unhappy. I feel that making that change for myself turned my whole life around."

We spoke with Shelli, the beautiful girl who is famous to O-Town fans as Ashley Parker Angel's on-again, off-again girlfriend on Making the Band. She told us some of Ash's fans didn't like her based on how she was portrayed last season. "It was an overwhelming feeling," she confessed. "I wouldn't wish reality TV upon anybody, to try and balance real life and then a series that they were trying to make. It was hard to come to grips with the fact that your life was being broadcast over national television." One thing we found interesting is that Shelli was not going to appear on the show much this year- until fans started heckling her when they saw her with Ashley! Word is that MTB will be sure to give her well-rounded coverage this season, showing fans that Shelli is not some mean girl who tried to stand in Ashley's way.
Shelli is now in college studying special effects makeup and video photography. She hopes to eventually be working as a makeup artist in films. Just to set the record straight, she and Ashley are not datemates. "Ashley and I both just figured out that through this whole thing, being in
a relationship was way too demanding on both of us, especially with our careers," she told Poptalk! exclusively. "We decided to take a break from each other. We're still very close and still best friends."
