I'm Tierney from the JC Centers (John Casablancas Modeling Studio). I figure I should give my scoop on whats in:
Clothes:
Obviously being summer, the style is short shorts for tall people, longer shorts for petites (sp?) and capris for curvy women. It's also time for the slutty clothes to come out meaning the itty bitty skirts and itty bitty tops. I warn you: do not do skimpy on skimpy! For tops the girls usually wear slogans (I prefer DOTS stores because of the funky colors and hip styles), but I would go with the TAME slogans. Jeans for work ARE TOO casual!!!
Foot Wear:
Flip flops are defiently in. The adidas sandals are in too. For a mini I would say a doll house type flat or a kitten heel. For tall girls: flats petites/curvy: a chunky heel with enough balance.
Accesories:
Necklaces are big for some reason now. Hearts, stars, and name necklaces give off a good vibe with a low cut shirt. To big earrings are bad (but they are in style) because they pull down on your ear lobes and strech them out. Anklets are in because of the sandal craze.
Lingerine:
Ladies (and gentlemen) thongs are in! But don't feel the need to pull them up your butt so they stick out your pants. That is the sluttiest thing you can ever do! And if you have high underwear (up to your waist or hips) then roll them down a bit so they dont stick out!
Hair:
Hare. Bunny...haha. Seriously: low pony tails are cute and don't break your hair strands as of when they are tight, high, and always in the same place. Same goes for buns. Loose buns with bobby pins are soo cute and bangs...there is so much to do with them. Try a scarf look, with the scarf like a bandana. Pig tails with two tanktops give you the "I like my life simple" look. Also, too much straightening, curling, hair spraying, moussing (sp?) can damage fine or hard hair. Give your hair a rest atleast twice a week. Oh, also straight hair is in (I'm natrually straight) but my bff uses anti fizz serum. It works wonders for her, try it.
Make up:
Always: spf 15+ in your makeup (even nail polish!). If you love to wear the foundation in the water, well tell me the answer to that one (I can't find waterproof foundation). Other wise I use either: Maybelline, Bobby Brown, or Cover Girl. Waterproof mascara (brown for blondes), and a waterproof concealer (Maybelline), a water proof eyeliner for swimming. Let me warn you again: eyeliner makes your eyes look bigger and smaller at the same time. Don't be afraid of your skin girls, I like to never use make up (being a model I have to) but when I do, I keep my lipstick to a lip gloss, my foundation to a minimum, and my eye shadow blue (perfect for pool/beach/ect).
Tell You Shirt Color:
If you have:
Pink Undertones or Fair Skin: Reds, oranges, pinks...off limits. Try to settle for a cooling color: black, blue, green.
Yellow Undertones or Tannish Skin: No orange or yellow. Reds and pinks, and some blues. Black is good too.
Blonde Hair: Blue, green, black (shows off blondeness), and reds to bring out your red highlights.
